With all the pink I’ve been wearing and posting lately I’ll bet you’re surprised to see me playing around on the dark side. I sure am but somehow it happened! Today I’m linking up with the fabulous ladies of The Blended Blog to talk Spring jackets! Just when it seems the perfect time for me to whip out something in a fabulous pastel floral I throw you a curve ball and I’m in the dark. But hey, at least it’s floral, right?
In Florida the only jackets we really need are lightweight ones; in fact Spring jackets look a lot like Winter jackets! Usually in Spring I reach for one of my many kimonos. They add just the perfect amount of warmth and they’re stylish. This one is from Amazon. The funny thing is I thought I was ordering a blue one but it’s clearly black. I could have returned it but I decided to keep it because believe it or not I don’t own a black one! #exceptnowido
It’s perfect with my new pixie chinos and my black high neck tank. My platform wedge espadrilles and pendant necklace (under $20) were the perfect completer pieces.

A kimono is a great addition to your wardrobe. Perfect over jeans, pants, shorts, a dress, or even as a cover up over your swimsuit!
As much as I love how flowy and fun a kimono is I also love something a little more structured like this peplum utility jacket from Loft. It’s so versatile and I love the fit. For reference I am wearing it in a small. It is also available in plus sizes here.
I wore this on Sunday to the movies and as you can tell it was a rainy, windy day. So, yes, my hair is looking a little rough, please excuse!
Normally I don’t repeat an outfit twice in one weekend but with this one I did! I wore it Saturday night to our friend’s senior musical.
It’s not very Spring-like but I like it! Something about a monochromatic base is so chic. My black pants are from Loft (similar) and my peep toe booties are available at Zappos. Again I’m wearing my high neck black tank and this time I added my jungle love tassel necklace.
A great Spring jacket is one that can be worn with all things Spring and that’s what this one is for me. I think it will look great with shorts!
How about you? Do you have a Spring jacket? What is your favorite way to wear it?
