As we enter the final few months of 2022, celebrations abound! This is the time to start planning what you’ll wear. If you take the time now you will likely avoid impulse purchases that will cost you money and potentially result in buyers remorse. I have some Thanksgiving outfit ideas that are sure to help you along the way regardless of your climate and setting.
Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas
Let me preface this by saying the outfit ideas I am sharing will have a more sophisticated vibe. There are lots of graphic tees out there but you won’t find them here. My intent is to share with you the things I’d actually wear (or have worn). Of course you’ll have to consider the weather as well as the type of celebration – casual or dressy. You can check out my post from last year here.
Casual Outfit Ideas
Casual means different things to different people. Living in Central Florida means shorts, tees, sneakers, and flip flops are common. However, I would not show up to Thanksgiving dressed like that. My personal opinion is that holidays are special and call for some measure of respect.
If you live in a warmer climate like I do, think casual dresses, lightweight pants, and layers. Sneakers, sandals, and booties can work for footwear. By sneakers I do not mean the ones you wear to the gym or mow the grass in!
In a cooler climate I’d wear denim, booties, and a long cardigan or blazer. Cozy sweaters are an option too – it all depends on the weather! #sweaterweather
Here are two outfits you can wear for a casual Thanksgiving!

Dressier Outfit Ideas
If your plans call for something dressier, a nicer dress and heels might be in order. This formula can work well in any climate – just add a beautiful coat if it’s cold. A pant suit or jumpsuit is another way to show up dressed to impress. I shared this dress on Monday and think it would be perfect for Thanksgiving! I’d add a moto jacket for a more casual look.

Final Thoughts
Regardless of what you decide to wear, make sure you feel confident and comfortable. Those are the two most important ingredients in any outfit formula. Holidays can be stressful, underlying family issues can rear their ugly head – by comparison how you’ll dress may seem very superficial. However, I urge you to reconsider. How we dress is so closely tied to how we feel about ourselves. How we feel about ourselves directs our behavior.
Thanks so much for stopping by today friends, it means so much to me. I wish you the very best weekend!
