Happy Sunday lovely people! Today we’re bringing you something extra special, a try on session at Loft! The cool thing about this is that Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood., Chrissy of Granola & Grace, and I represent different age groups and did not share with one another what we tried on before today!
I’m 50 and live in Orlando, FL while Chrissy is 40 and lives in Sarasota, FL. Ada is in her 30s and lives in Michigan! It will be fun to see what different Loft stores offer as well as what we chose given our different ages and stages in life!
So come along with me and enjoy the good, the bad (there was plenty of that btw), and the ugly. Hmmm…I’m not sure there was any ugly but that’s the way the saying goes and who am I to go changing things! Also? I grabbed lots of things to try and the store was crazy busy – there was a line for the fitting room! My apologies for the awful lighting but I feared for my life if I would have even thought about stepping outside and taking pictures in front of the big mirror!
Let’s start with the good first. I picked up red dress just because it caught my eye. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did but I do! Just for reference I am wearing a size 4. It is also available in plus sizes here. The only other piece I considered good was this jumpsuit (plus size). I am wearing it in a small. I really liked it!
The rest of the try ons were disappointing. This chambray wrap dress (plus size) was a no go – I looked like a sack of potatoes! I am wearing a size 6 for reference. I carry my weight in my mid section but if you are built differently you’d probably love this one!
These tie waist shorts caught my eye when I walked in the store. I am wearing a size 4 for reference. I thought they’d be adorable with this striped blouse (size medium). I stand by that thought but not on me!
These Bermuda shorts were okay but I’m not a fan of the cuff. They looked funny uncuffed. For reference I am wearing them in a size 4. I tried them on with this striped sweater in a size small. I liked the fit and think it would be great for spring!
I found this button v-back blouse in this pretty green color. I am wearing a size small. This tie waist button front skirt would be darling with sandals and a cute tank! Perfect for spring but not a good fit on me. I am wearing a size 6 and the waist is tight!
I am wearing this swiss dot blouse in a medium. The color is so pretty! I kept it on to try these wide leg pants. I am wearing a medium and they were too big. They look horrible on me, if they had a small I would have tried them but overall I think this is not a style for me.
Finally, I tried on these skinny cropped jeans in lilacin a size 4. I wanted a tee in the same color but they didn’t have my size so I tried them on with this Garden vintage soft tee in a size small. While pretty enough I didn’t care for the look that much – in fact I needed to size up in the jeans but I was exhausted!
So did I actually buy anything? Why yes, yes I did. I chose the red dress. The whole store was 40% off and I had a $20 reward certificate. The grand total of the dress was $37! It is lined and well made so definitely worth what I paid. Also, I will be using some fashion tape to keep the top closed until I can get it to the tailor to have a snap sewn in.
Last month we had 80 entries for our link up! I loved this
cropped teddy coat that Jill from Doused in Pink wore! . My second favorite was Blue Printed Bomber Beautiful by Kathleen Eldridge.
