Since the unofficial start of Summer is Memorial Day for my friends and I in the US, it seemed like the perfect time to share Summer Favorites! In my neck of the woods it already feels like full blown Summer so these are the things I reach for time and time again.
Favorite Swimsuit
It can hardly be a Summer favorites without a swimsuit. I bought this one in 2019 and was so blown away, I bought another. It is my go-to swimsuit now. While I prefer the coverage of a one piece, they typically don’t offer as much support up top as I like. But this one is magic! It’s under $30 and comes in tons of colorways.
Favorite Cover Up
As much as I love seeing so many pretty cover ups on other influencers and bloggers, they are not always practical for me. I get so hot and sticky at the beach or pool that wearing anything made of polyester feels gross. I’ve also come to realize that I need something that buttons up the front and that some of the caftans aren’t very easy to walk in.
Target caught my attention with these pieces. I love the top and the pants – they are reasonably priced but look high end and are cute enough to throw on over my suit and wear to a casual lunch or dinner.
Favorite Sunscreen
The sunscreen I use every single day is this one from Elta MD. It is tinted and doesn’t feel thick or greasy on my skin. I wear it under my make up and can’t even tell it’s there. Needless to say in Summer I carry it with me to the beach or pool. For my body I always use a waterproof sunscreen and we usually buy the No Ad brand we find at Target or Walmart.
Favorite Slides
I learned a long time ago, that going barefoot exacerbated my foot issues so I wear slides all the time. Last year I bought a cute pair of Sam Edelman slides. Big mistake, they just didn’t offer the support I needed. I am a firm believer in Vionics – and currently wear these or these all the time.
