Remember a few weeks ago when I wrote about denim? Today I am focusing on styling straight leg denim. If you have yet to try this style I hope you will soon. They are not only more comfortable than skinnies but fresher and more current.

Styling Straight Leg Denim
Straight leg denim jeans have a straight up and down cut through the entire pant leg, from waist to hem. They can be wide leg, boyfriend style, or slim fit so there are different varieties within the style. The two I previously shared from Old Navy are great examples.
Good American Good Legs Straight Jean
When I visited Evereve last week I purchased the Good American Good Legs Straight Leg Jean. They have a high rise and ankle length hem. This makes them extremely versatile! The waist band is gap prrof and reinforced with some type of magical material (elastic???). The fabrication includes 67.4% cotton, 25% recycled cotton, 5.8 % polyester, and 1.8% elastane denim. They hold their shape and don’t bag out as you wear them. I was attracted to this pair because of the wash and the fit. For reference I am wearing them in a size 4 and I am 5’5″ 128 lbs.
3 Easy Outfit Ideas with Straight Leg Denim
My point with this post is to help you see how easy it is to wear this style of denim. My guess is that you probably already own pieces like these and that certainly makes for easy styling. If you decide to venture out of your style comfort zone the best way to do it is to pair the new item with things you already own and love! Think of it like introducing a new friend to old friends!
This lightweight moto jacket is from Kohl’s. It’s perfect for a climate like mine. It comes in 3 colorways – I’ve tried them all and think this one in coal is the best color on me. The booties are by Schutz and while they are a pointy toe and a skinny heel they are insanely comfortable.

The cropped cardigan isn’t too cropped on me and my short waisted self. But it’s an easy and comfortable pairing.

In the last few years the shacket has been so popular. Mine is pretty expensive – I did not pay full price and I’ll be honest, you shouldn’t either. Not with so many budget friendly versions like this one. About mine I’ll say this – it’s insanely soft and cozy and does have pockets. I tucked my jeans under in this photo – it’s not necessary but I liked the look.
