Boot season is upon us and it seems slouchy boots are making waves! I’m seeing them all over and in varying degrees of slouch. Styling slouchy boots (aka scrunchy boots) is easy if you keep a few things in mind. In my opinion they look best with a shorter dress vs a midi or maxi dress. Here’s how I’m styling slouchy boots!
You might remember this dress, posted on Instagram here. In my climate it works year round – sandals for spring and summer, booties or boots for fall and winter. In fact, I will add a long cardigan when it is cool enough to add that extra layer of warmth. I think a hat would top it off well too! #punintended

This dress is now on clearance (under$25!). It comes in 3 colorways and plus sizes as well. For me this dress ran a little big – I am wearing it in an XS.

Another way to style your slouchy boots is with leggings, in this case I chose my faux leather leggings. Leggings work well with slouchy boots because they are so fitted in the leg and contrast nicely with the boot. I think it’s a mistake to style a wide leg, loose fitting pant with these boots, it just adds bulk.

It is also completely fine to wear brown with black! It certainly gives the outfit a more casual vibe but don’t be afraid to mix the two colors. Feeling afraid to do so? Just remember that brown and black appear in nature together. You’ve seen this double breasted blazer before and you’ll see it again. It is a fabulous find and only $32, I am wearing it in a medium.

A corduroy skirt is yet another way to style these slouchy boots. Again, the skirt is shorter and the boot with the wider shaft gives your legs a slimmer look. The rust colored skirt and the green peplum blouse is perfect for fall.

Let’s wrap this up by saying that slouchy boots are trendy this year. My motto is that adding some trendy pieces to your wardrobe each year is a great way to have fun and add a little style and interest to your personal look. However, trends are things I am not willing to spend much money on; in fact they are the pieces I often shop Walmart or Target for; I’d prefer to invest in pieces that have longevity. Accessories like luxury belts and handbags are the things I am willing to splurge on. How about you? Are you interested in adding trends to your wardrobe?

Target has been a go-to for me for stylish and trendy boots. The price point is good and the quality and comfort do not disappoint. Below you’ll see some f the trendy options available at Target this season and this is the perfect time to shop – they are 20% off until Tuesday!
