Styling Charcoal Grey Denim

Move over blue, move over black there’s a denim alternative taking center stage this fall. You’ve seen grey before and maybe you’ve thought about it but stayed in your comfort zone. It’s easy to think blue or black work best. But today I’m sharing easy ways of styling charcoal grey denim.

First things first, don’t let the color throw you. It’s easy to get caught up in feeling that charcoal grey is so different from your standard blue or black. To be completely honest you can wear charcoal grey with anything you’d normally wear blue or black jeans with!

Outfit Ideas to Try

This is what I wore out on Friday night for dinner with friends. My black satin shirt from Banana Republic Factory added the perfect amount of ‘dressy’ to these jeans. This shirt is a great wardrobe staple for me. In fact, I like it so much I ordered it in cream! I kept my accessories very simple with my standard gold toned pieces.

Easy pairing with a sweater and chelsea boots, charcoal grey just adds a little extra something to a casual look. If I had to recommend one sweater this year it would be one with stripes, they are classic and go with everything.

You’ve seen this bomber jacket before. I think the black accents really stand out with the white tee and charcoal grey denim. Pro tip: when you are using your white tee for layering, try a baby tee like this one. It fits snug to the body and doesn’t ride up nor does it need tucking, great alternative to a bodysuit.

Cropped blazers are a big trend this year and you know how much I love a blazer! This liquid leather version from Clara Sunwoo really dresses up the denim. Think of how great these jeans would look with brighter colored tops and sweaters. With the upcoming holidays, these jeans would be a nice way to dress for parties. I don’t know about you but we don’t get invited to too many parties anymore and the invites we do get are generally house parties.
