Well hello July and welcome to this week’s 2nd Style Six Link Up, if you missed Monday’s you can check it out here. Lots of great red, white, and blue inspiration to be found.
Today I thought it might be fun to talk about where outfit inspiration comes from. Sometimes I see something on a show I’m watching that inspires me, sometimes it’s a blog or social media. Where do you find inspiration? Listen, not a single one of these looks today is earth shattering but the idea I’m trying to convey is that you can use things you already own in new ways to create different looks!
I recently received my 3rd Stitch Fix box. Stitch Fix is a subscription styling service. It works quite simply, you pay a $20 styling fee that gets applied to any purchase, complete a style survey, and a stylist hand picks clothing items for you. While I love shopping for myself I also love to see what someone else picks too! I shared my unboxing on Instagram (give me a follow) and the try on. Wanna give Stitch Fix a try? Click here to get started!
Each box contains 5 pieces. If you purchase all 5 you get a 25% discount on the whole box. I decided to purchase just one piece. This one:

One of my favorite things about Stitch Fix is the styling card you get in each box. It’s what gave me the inspiration for today’s post. I’m taking a few pieces and putting them together in new ways thanks to that styling card!
The base for all 3 looks is my denim shorts. Mine are years old. I’ve found some options for you but these are available in regular and plus sizes. I love that they are longer in length!
First up, my favorite denim cut offs with this pretty mustard yellow cami (similar) . There was a similar cami in my box but I like mine better. Since it’s summer and it’s hot I added a sleeveless duster. Why the duster? I think it provides just a little extra coverage and if you aren’t a fan of the backs of your legs? Well it covers that too!

The next look uses the same denim shorts. This time I added my old striped shirt (similar) and tied it at the waist. Again, a striped shirt was in my box but since I have this one, I couldn’t justify purchasing a new one. The thing is I had never worn these two items together. So, thanks to the inspiration from my box I have a new outfit!

Finally the piece I kept from the box. The olive cold shoulder tee (option). I really like that the cold shoulder on this tee is very subtle. The fabric is nice and it drapes well. It looks great with my denim shorts and my necklace.

Of course the olive tee (similar) also looks great with my camo pants. I wore this outfit on Tuesday for my yearly mammogram and sonogram.

Before we get to our link up, I have to tell you that one of my very favorite places to buy accessories, Accessory Concierge is having their biggest sale of the year! With code AMERICA you’ll get 40% off your order! That’s incredible. My favorite necklaces come from AC! The quality is great – you cannot get pieces this well made from Target or Versona. Here are my faves!
My favorite post from last week was this one from Jill from Doused in Pink. I absolutely love this dress!
