Hi friends, happy Monday! More importantly for all of my US friends, Happy Veteran’s Day1 We owe so much to our veterans and their families and I hope you have a heart of gratitude and thansksgiving.
Today I wanted to share what a sophisticated holiday might look like. I’m seeing so many greens and reds and certainly lots of graphic tees and sweaters too in all the colors. But for those if use who want to be festive and celebratory minus the santa hat there are ways to dress sophisticated and chic! I found some great pieces to help you achieve the look if that’s your goal.

Sophisticated Sparkle & Shine Holiday Dressing
The key to achieving a sophisticated look is to use neutral colors but capitalize on texture. Think sequins, feathers, and faux leather! Check out the outfit inspiration and see if any of these strike your fancy!
Silver Pants & Feather Sweater
These silver pants have such a nice leg! They are a little more relaxed than the styles of last year. Paired with the gorgeous feather sweater these two textures are the ultimate in chic! I also like the idea of having lots of ways to pair these pieces with other items in your wardrobe!

Silver Skirt & Sweater
The silver skirt has that relaxed vibe so evident in the mid length denim skirts that are so popular. The silver color elevates it! When you pair something more elevated with something casual, like a simple sweater you get that chic and sophisticated look! I am absolutely crazy about the untucked white shirt too – I think it gives that cool girl vibe!

Sequin Skirt & Sweater
The same reasoning above applies to the sequin skirt. The fact that this stunner is longer makes it so chic and not ‘viva Las Vegas’ if you know what I mean, lol! Pairing it with a more demure sweater set or mock neck strikes the right balance.

Velvet Blazer & Sequin Joggers
These two are on their way to me! I cannot get enough chocolate brown this year! These pieces also come in black. Talk about textures – the smooth velvet of the jack with the sequin joggers is a match made in heaven!

Accessories
A little embellishment goes a long way on a shoe which is what I love about these from Target. They look like they are much more expensive than they are! A neutral shoe will work with all of the outfits above. Metallic shoes like gold or silver will also do the trick. There are so many to choose from right now!
A sophisticated look means dainty jewelry. But dainty doesn’t mean it has no impact! A diamond, gold, or silver earring goes a long way to add a little sparkle without overwhelming or competing with the rest of the outfit for attention. I think dangly, statement earrings paired with a sequin top or one with feathers is fun but a little too busy to be sophisticated. Same thing with a necklace or bracelet.
Finally, don’t forget your bag! I love these statement making, festive bags.
I hope this post gives you some ideas for creating outfits for the upcoming holiday season! You might own some of these pieces already and maybe you could just put them together in new and different ways. Or sometimes just adding one new item can help breathe new life into existing outfits. I’m thinking of a black dress you probably have but when you add a cute new clutch with a little embellishment you are holiday ready!
