Shoes for Spring

The first day of Spring is just days away and that means we’ll soon be shedding the heavy layers of clothing in favor of lighter options. Now is the time to take inventory of your shoes for Spring and the warmer months ahead. Oh, and hello regularly scheduled pedicures!

I broke down Spring shoes into categories but allow me this disclaimer. Most can move seamlessly from one category to another. It depends on your climate, your lifestyle, and your comfort level.

Casual Shoes for Spring

My lifestyle is casual but that doesn’t mean I spend my days in flip flops and sneakers. On the contrary, I only wear flip flops to the beach or pool. Sneakers, on the other hand have become a wardrobe staple.

Light colored sneakers are a great option for Spring. Wear them with skirts, dresses, shorts, pants – you name it! Since they are so trendy, you’ll find options at every price point.

Braided sandals are everywhere and in just about every color. I tend to gravitate towards neutral colors that work with everything but these are available in just about every color of the rainbow!

Clear sandals started trending last Spring and they are not going anywhere yet. This makes total sense because they literally go with everything. There’s nothing better to help elongate the look of your leg.

No shoe collection would be complete without a pair of flats, flip flops, or slides. Something to wear to the pool or beach or even just a day out!

Work Appropriate Shoes for Spring

For the past four years I have worked from home but in the past, I definitely needed shoes for work that were comfortable and seasonally appropriate. I find open toe shoes to be most comfortable but some workplaces require close toed shoes.

If you can wear open toed shoes, I love a platform espadrille. The platform heel is so comfortable and they look great with shorts, pants, skirts, and dresses. They’re available at all price points as well. A platform espadrille can be worn casually too!

When it comes to a close toed shoe, I love a loafer or basic pump in a neutral or nude color. A classic loafer is a wardrobe staple that can be worn year round. The chunky, lug soles are more of a trend. Invest in a great loafer that you’ll wear for year after year.

My cap toe pumps have become a pair I wear weekly. They transition beautifully from casual to dressy. Again, this is a classic shoe that will not disappoint.

Special Occasion Shoes for Spring

Weddings, graduations, and other special occasions may be on your social calendar this year. In that case, I love a strappy sandal. Heel height is totally up to you and what you are comfortable in. While the look of a 4 inch heel may be more aesthetically pleasing in your eyes, if you can’t walk properly in them forget it! I found some cute options with a kitten heel that say style and glamour without discomfort.
