Shake Up Your Workout Routine

Doing the same old workout all the time can get pretty boring. Even if it’s an effective workout to start with, it can become less so if you no longer find it interesting. Fortunately, there are ways to shake up your workout routine if you don’t find your current routine fun anymore. You can change a lot of different things, from the pace of your workout to which activity you choose to do. Whether you make a small change or a big one, you can make your workouts interesting again. Here are some of the ways that you could shake up your workout routine.

Get More Intense

One of the key times your workouts could start to get boring is when they get too easy for you. Once you start to get into the swing of things, you can find that you know every part of your workout by heart and it’s not challenging you physically anymore, either. If you want to change things up a bit, stepping up the intensity can be a good way to push yourself further. By extending the length of your workout, lifting more weight, doing more reps or doing anything else to make your workout more intense, you can make it interesting again.

Slow Down

On the other side of the coin, perhaps you usually push yourself pretty hard when you’re working out. If you’re someone who tends to be pretty intense in their workouts, calming things down a little could be a good thing to do. You can still give your body a good workout but in a different way. Instead of going for a run or lifting weights, you might try some yoga or pilates, or perhaps go for a walk. A more gentle workout can give you the chance to work on different elements of your fitness, like flexibility.

Try Out a New Class

Making your workout more social is a good way to change things up a little, and attending a class is a great way to do this. In addition, a class could introduce you to a new activity and teach you how to do it properly. Gyms and health clubs like Fitness 19 have an array of classes on offer so you can find one that you like. A lot of people find that classes can be good for motivating them to exercise too. They’re on a schedule, so once you’re booked it, you have more of an obligation to attend.

Set a New Goal

It’s always a good idea to have fitness goals as a way to motivate you. When you want to shake up your workout routine, setting a new goal or even several goals can give you a reason to start doing things differently. If you usually go jogging but you decide that you want to run a half-marathon, you’ll have to step up your workout routine to get ready for the big event.

When your workout routine gets boring, do something to shake it up a little and introduce a little more excitement.
