Red, White, Blue and You Link Up!

Happy Monday friends! A great way to kick off this holiday week is with a super special Red, White, Blue and You link up! With that theme in mind, let’s get to celebrating the birth of our beloved USA’s independence!

I love all things red, white, and blue and celebrating the 4th is always special to me. We usually have our best friends over to eat, drink, and hang by the pool. Simple decorations are best in my book. Check out these simple ideas from my Pinterest

My tiered tray (similar)got a makeover too! Most of these items came from the Dollar Tree!4th of July Tiered Tray

While not all of our food will be red, white, and blue at least a few fun items will be! I usually make a trifle with berries, pound cake, and a pudding-cool whip mixture. I’d be beside myself if I could create something this beautiful! Original source here.

One thing for sure is I’ll be using my Nora Fleming serving dishes. I think these pieces make great gifts for someone who likes to entertain. They put the “fun” in functional because you can switch out the minis for each season or occasion. My platter will hold my best friend Laura’s Cajun Caviar Dip. It is so delicious and easy too! My divided dish will be filled with fruit and dip and it will be adorned with this American Flag mini.

As far as what I’ll be wearing goes…well, since we’ll be in the pool the majority of the day I’ll be wearing this swimsuit in beautiful blue! I have two – black and blue! I’ll throw on this caftan and I’ll wear red earrings! I bought these red earrings from Amazon – they are not Prime so they took a few weeks to arrive. They are LARGE but fun!Caftan, Bathing Suite, Red Earrings

Since I’m spending the 4th in a swimsuit I like to treat the days leading up to the 4th as my chance to wear all the red, white, and blue. On Friday I wore this outfit to run errands. I love a hat for a day when I don’t want to mess with my hair. These pieces are all old and I have a confession to make. I only did the front tuck because I had spilled almond butter on my blouse – ha! I love tying a little scarf on my straw bag (similar but better because it’s bigger)to add a little interest! I’m wearing my go-to flat sandals (on sale and so comfy!). Fedora, red and whote striped tunic, and chambray pants
