Purchased in March

Welcome to another edition of what I purchased. It has taken me a few days to wrap up my purchases from March as I placed a few orders and had to wait for them to arrive. In any case, I hadn’t planned on buying and keeping as much as I did but I think once you review these purchases you’ll agree with me. I pretty much had to – ha!!

Let me also say this, I share what I purchased so you can see what I bought but more importantly I want to learn from my decisions both good and bad. I have zero debt – no credit card balances so everything I purchase is paid in full by me using my blog income. I did a collaboration with Slimsation in March and was gifted two pair of jeans. I don’t include gifted items in these posts because I didn’t purchase them.

Purchased in March

When I look at what I purchased in March I realize that Walmart has really been my main shopping site. I certainly hadn’t planned that but I order things ‘to check them out’ and end up liking and keeping them! Well played, Walmart! Having Brandon Maxwell design Free Assembly and Scoop was the very best decision the retailer has made in a long time. Target quality pales in comparison to these designs!

Walmart Purchases

To make things easier for myself, I am grouping the purchases by retailer. In March I bought from Walmart, Loft, Old Navy, Amazon, and Banana Republic Factory. I was surprised to see that I purchased 6 clothing items from Walmart, wow how times have changed. Two tops, a denim skirt, a dress, linen blend pants, and a blazer. I spent a total of $149.22 at Walmart.

You’ve seen the two tops here. The egret one is so impressive in quality, it definitely reads more Madewell than Walmart. I think it may still be available in the azalea stripe in a few sizes. I wish it came in more solids because it is such a good one!

The pink floral blouse was one I had every intention of returning but I couldn’t part with it. The minute I put it on I smiled and felt energized! The colors are vibrant and cheery! Not a fan of pink? It also comes in a navy floral and has been marked down.

Let’s talk about this denim skirt. Even though I already own a maxi length denim skirt I am keeping this one. It’s more of a midi length and fits better. It was $24 and when I tell you the denim is sturdy trust me – it feels much more expensive!!

You know all about the navy slip dress too! Once again, the fabric on this is so good. I could see using this for a bridesmaid dress for a wedding. It so easily can be dressed up or down. With so many events coming up for my family this spring I know I will wear this to at least one!

Linen blend pants are a great alternative for shorts when you live in a sweltering hot climate like I do. I am not always in the mood for shorts so this type of pant comes in handy. These also come in white with a black stripe. I bought a size small but wish I had ordered the XS so if you are between sizes, size down.

I’ll probably never quit this blazer. They keep making it and I keep buying it! Meet my latest blazer in lilac! I ordered a size small and of course, it fit like a glove. This blazer is fully lined and so much better than the Scoop version!

Purchased at Loft

I did a big try on at my local Loft. Although I really liked quite a few pieces, I left with only this one button up shirt. I felt so very proud of myself! I’d like to go visit again and try on some of what’s new. I spent $44 at Loft.

In the picture below I am wearing it with my denim maxi skirt. The asymmetrical button and zipper fly coupled with the fact that it’s a little too big for me make it appear a little odd, hence, I am keeping the Walmart denim skirt.

Purchased at Old Navy

When I was in Italy I saw so many fashionable tourists! One thing I wished I had was a black slip skirt. Upon my return home I set about finding the right one and I think this one just might be it! I ordered it on March 27th and it just arrived Saturday so I haven’t had a chance to wear it out yet. I ordered a small and a medium and I’m keeping the small. The skirt was $25.00.

Purchased at Banana Republic Factory

White was on my mind when I ordered this dress and this top from Banana Republic Factory. I own the top in black too and since I like it so much the white was a must have. This top takes the place of a regular tee for me. I like the collar and the v-neck, and the fact that it’s a linen blend. I spent $63.37 on these two pieces.

This white shirt dress is a favorite. It arrived right before we left on our trip. I think this will be perfect for spring and summer! A white, poplin dress is a blank canvas for accessory fun. It’s also quintessential summer in my mind!

Purchased at Amazon

My Amazon clothing purchases seem to be coming to a halt as of late. But this dress did not disappoint. I cannot say enough good things about it! This is what I am planning to wear to my nephew’s graduation on May 1st. I spent $45.04 at Amazon on this dress.

The grand total for what I purchased in March comes to $326.63. I think that is pretty good considering I bought so many pieces! What do you think about my purchases, any favorites? Time will tell if I made good choices but so far I feel confident that I have.
