Purchased in February

Welcome to another edition of Closet Confessions! This time I am sharing what I purchased in February. Spoiler alert: the month started off slowly and I was thinking I’d barely have anything to share. But, as most of these posts go, I ended it with a bang!

Purchased in February

By the time February rolls around I am anticipating spring like weather and ready to avoid buying sweaters or anything that feels like winter. At least most Februarys are like that! Since we have an upcoming trip to Italy I have found myself more willing to buy clothes for cooler weather. So here’s what I purchased in February!

Clothing Purchases

I was so enamored with this cardigan that I purchased it in 2 colors. My thoughts of only keeping one went by the wayside when they arrived! The navy and the cream color are staying. I bought them both in size small and I have washed the ivory one – on the hand wash cycle in my washing machine. I let it air dry and it was perfect! These were $26 each for a total of $52.

Out of curiosity more than anything else, I purchased these jeans. The rugby shirt caught my eye as a great casual option and I am always looking for a black t-shirt option that isn’t really a t-shirt! This one fit the bill (and me!) perfectly. Based on how my faux leather beachwood beige pants fit I sized down one and chose a short inseam on the jeans. I really like the fit. Gap always has a sale, I take advantage of cardholder perks making it one of my very favorite places to shop! Total spent at Gap: $139.65

This silver top is the only real impulse purchase I made in February. I was shopping with my friend and let me be very honest here – I am not a fan of White House Black Market these days. However, if I spend enough time in a place, something undoubtedly grabs my attention. I was attracted to the casual feel of this top but also the fact that it capitalizes on the metallic trend and I could easily wear it all spring and summer. The day we were shopping all tops were 30% off so home it came with me! Total spent: $29

I wanted a new pair of skinny black pants. The old pair from Loft didn’t seem to fit so well anymore and the hem on one leg needed repair. I do not do any sewing so when faced with taking a pair of pants I don’t love to the tailor I decided to replace them. Last Thursday I popped into JCrew Factory and found this pair – I love them! I also picked up this 1/4 zip sweater that was on clearance. It is so very well made and I love the fit, it is sold out online. I snagged this set of 2 silver stretchy bracelets. Total spent: $75.18

With all the silver I have been wearing lately, I wanted an all black blazer. I have one but it’s a bit big and long. I had seen this one from Scoop and decided to go for it in a size small. I like it – I do not love it as much as I love my other Walmart blazers but it gets the job done. I wore it out to dinner Saturday night with my JCrew Factory black pants. Total spent: $47.93

How’d I do?

I am please with what I purchased in February! Slowly I am preparing for spring and summer and always purging my closet. Right now I am replacing anything that no longer fits or needs to be repaired. While I have nothing on my current wishlist or need list I am enjoying all the spring fashion I am starting to see! I always get excited about a new season, how about you?

As I have said before, I don’t follow a budget and I doubt I’ll carry over a total spent on clothing. Why? I guess it’s laziness. Or busy-ness. Frankly I don’t feel it’s that important. I am not in debt, don’t carry any kind of balances on a credit card and use my own earnings for purchases. Sharing helps inform my behavior and gives me a chance to learn about my habits. I find myself practicing more discernment over the last few years and that has always been the goal!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I appreciate you being here. Please consider signing up to receive my posts by email and following me on Instagram and Pinterest.
