Here we are, the end of the year and the end of our Holiday Series Multi Blogger Collaboration! I hope you all have enjoyed the series, I feel honored to have been included. Many thanks to my friend, Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood.
Today we’re talking about what to wear for New Year’s Eve. It may be hard to believe that 2017 is coming to a close and the start of 2018 is just days away but it’s true. For years we’ve ushered in the new year at home or at the home of our friends. We aren’t the type of people to get dressed up and head out to a fancy party so my outfit reflects that. Truth be told we love being with our kids and when they were younger we never made it to midnight! Now of course we do so I’m interested in wearing something comfortable!
I ordered this sweatshirt from Old Navy on Black Friday. Don’t laugh but I don’t really own any sweatshirts! Isn’t that crazy? When I saw this one I thought it was cute and the price was right! I added a sparkly scarf I purchased years ago to dress it up just a bit. Pairing it with my comfiest faux leather leggings (similar, plus size)assures me that while I’ll feel like I’m in my jammies I most certainly won’t look like it! Slip on sneakers (similar, similar, similar)were a no brainer for a night of card games, yummy food, delicious drinks, 80s music and the best company!
Are you ready to see what everyone else is wearing? I can’t wait!
Ada: “New Year’s Eve is literally a few days away and I still have to finalize my plans, but no matter what I do I will settle for a girly+sexy silky camisole and a touch of leather and lace. I am loving this combination of burgundy with black – always a classic color pairing for Winter – and all the textures. Stop by the blog too, to see Vivian’s own coordinated, matchy outfit. Happy 2018 and let it shine!!”
Monica: “Y’all it’s almost 2018! Are you excited, or is it just another year for you? Regardless, Happy New Year! I’m not one to make resolutions, but there are a few that I am making this year because I have a lot of stuff to do in the new year, so might as well set some resolutions with my life goals.”
Chrissy: “Our NYE celebration changes each year. We may be gaming and setting off fireworks, chilling with friends or even falling asleep (gasp) on our own comfy sofa. I can’t remember the last time I rang in the new year with dancing, so I’m a little rusty but ready to give it a go this year!!”
Linda: “I found this skirt last year at Target after the holidays and it has been waiting in my closet for the perfect occasion. The sweater was an H&M sale also last year after the holidays. Two random pieces waiting for the special event. This year we are celebrating in Atlanta and heading to the Peach Bowl, leaving the snow and cold behind. Happy New Year and all the best to everyone’s families.”
