New & Noteworthy May 12

It’s that time again, happy Friday! Here’s hoping you had a great week and if not, know that the promise of a new week and new beginnings is on the horizon. I’ve got a round up of this and that this week, some things are new and some are noteworthy – let’s get to it!

New & Noteworthy

I have a few new things to share with you. If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen my story from last Friday. On the drive up to Gainesville I did a little online shopping. As a long time lover of Vionics, I decided it was time to grab these. Since they arrived on Tuesday, I have scarcely taken them off. They go with everything and are so comfortable. The best part? My plantar’s fasciitis is completely under control because I am wearing Vionics (almost exclusively).

New: Cute Dress

Chico's Dress
New & Noteworthy

This dress came from Chico’s – because I ordered it! Ha!! I wanted a dress that would be great for outdoor activities and this one fit the bill. It’s from the Zenergy line and has built in sun protection. It blocks out UVA and UVB rays! It also comes in navy.

Noteworthy: Fashion Hack

I don’t know about where you live, but the heat and humidity are rising here in Orlando. I’m pulling out my shorts and purging what I won’t be wearing this year. My donate pile is expanding! These shorts went into the “keep” pile. They are casual and comfortable. I like the length – not too long and not too short. I thought I’d share this outfit with you just so you can see an easy to wear, casual every day look. But then I thought, why not show you an easy way to elevate your style and the difference just a few tweaks can make!

The easiest way to elevate your style is to tuck in your shirt and wear a belt. It makes such a difference. Add some accessories and a good pair of shoes. Suddenly my Target t-shirt and Old Navy shorts look so much better! Let me also say that there is nothing wrong with the above outfit but if you want to upgrade your style then the one below is the way to go!

Noteworthy: Closet Organization

Months ago I shared these shoe organizers I purchased on Amazon. They have literally sat in the box while I tried to work out in my head how I needed to use them.

I was finally ready to tackle my shoes. There were so many shoes I’ve been keeping for years because I like them. The problem? I don’t wear them. They aren’t comfortable and at this point, they never will be. Time to let them go! Now, keep in mind I have a VERY small closet and living in FL means no basement, cellar, or real attic. In other words, zero storage.

These organizers are amazing for my needs! I can see my shoes so much better than I could when I stored them in boxes. They take up less space because of how they are stored. I turned the silver pair to the side so you could see that view – the organizer adjusts to the shoe.

One last noteworthy item, I placed an order with Banana Republic Factory yesterday. Everything is on sale (as usual) so I ordered three items. The vest I mentioned last week ended up not working out for me. You can see the Reel I made. My body may not be made for vests – or should I say vests are not made for my body! But by golly I am not going down without a fight! I am going to keep trying, fingers crossed this one from BRF works! I also ordered these shorts, and this cute top. I’ll keep you posted!

Final Thoughts

That wraps up this week’s list of new and noteworthy! If you are celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend, I hope it is enjoyable. I realize this may be a hard holiday for some of you – for a variety of reasons. Please know that you are not alone and that I am holding you in my thoughts and prayers.
