My Favorite Pajamas

You’d laugh if I showed you what I wore to bed the night of my wedding – a t-shirt and boxer shorts! If my husband didn’t feel like he’d hit the jackpot prior to that, I’m sure he did at that moment! Ha!! Maybe even more entertaining than that is the fact that my aunt bought me the most gorgeous night gown set (excuse my lack of vocabulary here, it’s super bougie gown and robe thing) that cost more than my wedding gown. For years, that was my sleepwear of choice, my favorite pajamas weren’t pajamas at all.

As my sons grew older, and we traveled on vacations with friends, slowly my pajama choices did too. I upgraded to cotton sleep shorts from Old Navy (still love them) and sleep tees. Then came Soma Cool Nights. They were fine but I wasn’t sure what all the hype was about.

Print Fresh caught my eye on social media because of the vibrant prints and then I started seeing them on my blog friends with large accounts. Knowing full well I was not about to get a message from them asking to work with me anytime soon, I jumped at the chance to grab a Print Fresh robe through an Anthropologie sale. The rest as they say, is history. I found my favorite pajamas.

What I loved first and foremost was the cotton. It’s not too thick and not too thin. The perfect weight for me. On top of that I love the fun prints. Since my first piece from Print Fresh was a robe I could hardly wait to try the actual pajamas. As soon as they had a sale, I bought a pair. Then another pair, and another pair after that. Always on sale and I’ll admit, it was hard to spend that kind of money. In the end I decided a few pair of pajamas that I love is much better than a drawer full of ratty, knit pajamas I don’t like. Knit pajamas are just too hot for my perimenopausal self who happens to reside in Hotlando, FL. I also dislike the way they pill and fade.

What to Know About Print Fresh

Formed in 2016 by Amy Voloshin, Print Fresh pajamas are sustainable & inclusive. They are available in sizes XS – 6X. The fabric is 100% organic, cotton poplin. With each wash, the fabric gets softer. Designed in Philadelphia, PA and ethically manufactured in India, every print starts as a painting. The fabrics are all colorful and whimsical! On top of all of that, Print Fresh is female owned and operated.

Why I Prefer Print Fresh

On Friday when I shared my Walmart finds, many of you wanted to know more about the pajamas. JoySpun has super cute styles and they are way more affordable. And guess what? I like them, I do! But I decided to return the two pair I bought because I don’t love them. Between the two pair I bought I spent about $45 and that is about half of a pair of Print Fresh.

But many of you asked what makes Print Fresh better. I hope I can explain it. Wearing a t-shirt, event the tees from Old Navy, always meant I had to wear a bra to bed. Listen, I have very large breasts – I know you cannot always tell because I wear a minimizer bra – but trust me, m’kay? The design of Print Fresh, coupled with the fabric, provides coverage. They are simply so much more comfortable.

Now I don’t know about you, but I wear my pajamas two nights in a row before washing them. The Print Fresh pajamas I have I wear on rotation – along with my robe which is worn daily. They have been washed so many times and have held up so well. The cost per wear is probably pennies at this point.

Latest Pair of Print Fresh

So a funny thing happened almost two weeks ago on Instagram. I was sharing that I had ordered some pajamas from Walmart and mentioned that I was hopeful they’d be a good alternative to my pricey Print Fresh obsession. Well, Print Fresh messaged me and asked me to select pair they could send me. This was a pinch me moment – it also took me precisely 10 seconds to respond! Meet my latest pair, the cami cropped set in Hummingbird Haven.

Because they are on the pricier side, I think Mother’s Day is a nice time to receive a pair or give a pair of Print Fresh. They usually have a sale this time of year as well. You can also shop Print Fresh at Anthropologie – they even have textiles and wallpaper along with a line of dresses.

Final Thoughts

Much like anything else, what we enjoy sleeping in is a matter of opinion and preference. Even when it is cold outside, I sleep in my short pajamas. I prefer the cami top & shorts and am disappointed to see that it looks like Print Fresh doesn’t have that style any longer. They do have nightgowns so that will be the next purchase I make.

Just because my favorite pajamas are from Print Fresh doesn’t mean I don’t like others. I also think it’s great to have budget friendly options like Joy Spun! I am still keeping my eyes open for cotton – preferably poplin cotton- pajamas. Please let me know if you found some you like!
