Mother’s Day Weekend Wrap Up

As per usual the weekend went by way too quickly but I am entering the new week feeling blessed and refreshed, ho about you? I’m joining Heather and Tanya here for Hello Monday!

Friday, May 7

Up early and out the door for morning boot camp. Always the best way to start the day in my humble opinion. Then it was home to work and take care of my mom. She was really struggling with pain today as all the meds from her surgery had worn off. We treated ourselves to Crumb cookies – yum and powered through the day. Here’s what I wore!

My best friend and I had planned a brunch for the women in our families way before my mom’s injury. While I thought for sure we’d cancel my mom wanted to move forward and I’m really glad we did. It took her mind off the pain and was a fun way to spend time together. We had mimosas, avocado toast, broccoli salad, quiche, french toast muffins, fruit salad, and lemon blueberry dump cake. It was wonderful and I believe we have a new tradition!

After brunch was over and we cleaned up, my mom went home with my sister for the night and I collapsed on the couch! I watched some Netflix, read for a bit and took a bubble bath. I was so full from brunch, I didn’t even eat dinner. My husband and son ordered Chipotle for dinner and we called it a night!

Sunday, May 9

Finally got a good night’s sleep after taking two of my Core Sleep capsules from Get Proper (I was running out and ordered more). Why is sleeping so hard? I had coffee on the back porch to enjoy the beautiful morning.

I was thrilled to get to FaceTime with Nolan and catch up on all the happenings in Nashville. He’s hoping to get to go into his office soon – working from home in a new place makes it difficult to meet people when you’re in a new town.

The afternoon called for a visit to my favorite Turkish restaurant where we could dine outside, eat fabulous food and sip wine. Of course that had could only be followed up with a visit to Target for grocery pick up (right now if choose order pick up you’ll get $15 off $50!).

Before you go…

Join me tonight for an Instagram Live event at 7pm EST. I’ll be talking all about mental health; specifically anxiety and depression. I’ll also be taking questions!

Thanks for stopping by today and let’s make today marvelous!
