This is the best time of year to pop into your favorite stores – greatly reduced Summer clothing and all the new Fall arrivals ensure there’s something for everyone. The funny thing is that even though I rarely shop in person anymore, I really like seeing things up close and personal at the start of the season. When I stopped into my local store, I realized there were lots of things catching my eye at Loft lately!

Loft Lately – Try On
It was an exchange that brought me into the store but while there I had to try on a few things that really caught my eye. A few dresses I had seen online were in my store and fully stocked so I figured I’d give them a try. I am so glad I did as they met my expectations.

This dress is so stunning online and in person it was even better. I got the impression it was made of a dressier fabric – maybe a stretch cotton of some type? But no. It is actually a soft knit (blend of rayon, nylon, spandex) very hard to explain but it feels incredible on. I tried it on in a size 4 and it fit perfectly. I think it would be a great dress to wear with a heel or even a sneaker. Maybe when the weather cools it could be layered with a jacket or even a Half Tee underneath. Bonus: you can wear a regular bra with this dress!

This striped dress scared me a little but why not try it on? Looking at it on the hanger, I immediately thought it would be tight and clingy but instead it skimmed and hugged. It’s soft and stretchy and oh so comfy. I tried it in a medium. It looked fine with my slides but I think it would be even better with sneakers. It also comes in black and a fiery red/orange color. I need to decide on a color because I think this dress would be great for travel as well as every day.

These trousers were the reason I was in the store in the first place! I ordered them online but they were HUGE and I believe mismarked. The size 6 I ordered were sooooo long and so huge everywhere else, it just didn’t make sense. I ended up with a size 4 so I would say wear your usual Loft size. In most trousers I size up one but not with these.
I have been showing you trousers lately and so far, these have the slimmest leg. They are called the Emory wide leg trouser but the leg seems narrow to me.

I tried this cute black top (size small) with them in the fitting room. Because, fashion influencer that I am, wore a t-shirt and shorts out that night. I had not planned on trying on anything. Rule number one for my peaceful life is that after dinner I do two things: wash my face and put on my pjs. Going to Loft was not part of the plan but I wasn’t able to get away from work during the day. Hmmm…overshare much? Ha!!
If you haven’t been into Loft lately, I think you should check them out! There were still loads of things I’d like to try and I may go back and try them. For me, they key to getting the great things at Loft is to avoid their prints and choose solids, stripes, and polka dots – the more timeless patterns vs. the trendy ones. But that’s just my preference and based on the things I tire of easily.
