July Ageless Style Link Up

Welcome to this month’s edition of the Ageless Style Link Up! Ten 40+ bloggers take on a trend or theme, proving that style is indeed ageless! I am thrilled to say that this month I picked our theme as well as our guest co-host! Our theme is “Keeping Cool in the Summer Heat” and I asked Cheryl of Northwest Mountain Living to be our guest co-host! You’ll have to head on over to Cheryl’s blog to see how she keeps cool in the mountains during Summer but here’s a sneak peek:
Recently Cheryl stepped away from some forms of social media and I absolutely applaud her decision. I’m not big on social media myself and sometimes find it a little taxing. No worries, you can follow Cheryl on her blog, on Pinterest, on Bloglovin, and on Instagram. I absolutely adore Cheryl and know she’ll be a great addition to this month’s round up. If you haven’t checked Cheryl out yet please do. She is not only beautiful but smart!

Listen, tomorrow is 4th of July and by now you are probably way over all the ways to wear red, white, and blue so I thought it would be nice to do something a little unexpected with our theme. Besides the 4th of July overkill the 10 of us live in different climates so my hope is you’ll get some great ideas from us!

It’s no secret that I live in a very hot and humid climate here in Orlando, Florida. I have also stated on several occasions that dresses are much more comfortable than shorts. When I spotted this dress at White House Black Market I knew I had to try it! Sure it’s cute as a striped maxi dress but it can also be worn as a skirt! I’ll share it later this week worn as a skirt.

Better yet it is part of WHBM’s Semi Annual Sale! On my way to the fitting room I grabbed this pair of pink suede mules that are on sale for less than $10! The color of these shoes is perfect with the dress. Now you know I complain about my feet all the time so grabbing these shoes at this price I know they’ll be shoes I wear to dinner or maybe even church with a different outfit.  They aren’t uncomfortable but I know walking for any length of time in them will result in foot pain for me.  I am not NOT recommending them, I think on the majority of women they’ll be terrific but you know I have issues!

Right now it’s too hot to wear anything over the dress but my denim jacket will be great with it when the weather cools off in about 6 months! After we snapped these photos I actually pulled the dress down and wore it with a hot pink tank top to the grocery store with flat sandals.  It started raining before we could grab some pictures unfortunately.

How do you stay cool in the Summer heat?  In Florida we run our a/c year round which helps a great deal.  I also put my hair up as often as I can because that helps too.  I generally reach for earrings over a necklace, especially if my hair is up and of course sandals! I like to stay cool but stylish, how about you?  Now be sure to check out the wonderful ladies below for more inspiration!
