January 2024 Closet Confessions

If you have been around for awhile, you might remember my series, Closet Confessions from 2022. It’s back! My reason for sharing what I bought in the previous month is simple: I learn from my purchases! As per usual I am completely transparent here and will share what I paid. Maybe it will help you to think and or scrutinize your purchases too? Maybe you’ll enjoy the series? Maybe not. Either way, it’s okay!

January 2024 Closet Confessions

January started off with a bang as I hit up the outlet mall with my niece and took advantage of some great sales. The weather impacted my purchases as well – it’s been surprisingly cold and that had me buying coats and sweaters!

The purchases I made at the outlet mall are not online, so I am unable to link. I bought a puffer coat from the Kate Spade Outlet, a pair of joggers from Gap Outlet, gloves and a beanie from JCrew Factory. I am so pleased with these purchases, especially the coat! With our trip to Italy coming up I think it will be put to good use!

Speaking of coats, this one went on sale and I grabbed it! This was the best deal of the month, a $300 coat for $80. I am IN LOVE! I bought a size 6. I spent $80.

From Old Navy, I purchased this grey eyelash sweater. I had tried it on in store in the fall in red. I bought a size small. This year I am embracing my more casual lifestyle. I ordered these leggings and this 1/4 zip, I am impressed with this line from Old Navy! I bought both in size small. Total spent: $47.

The Forever sweater from Banana Republic Factory is more of a good quality long sleeve tee. It’s good for layering and great if you live in a climate like mine. I really like this! I bought a size small. Another purchase from BRF is this pair of tencel cargo joggers in black. In the fall I purchased them in a brown color in size medium. They were too big and the color didn’t work in my wardrobe as well. The black in size small is just right! I’ve worn them several times already. Total spent: $60.

This sweater from Amazon is another one I am over the moon excited about. The quality is phenomenal and I adore the preppy, classic style! It’s another one I’ve worn a few times already which is always the sign of a good purchase in my book. I bought a size small. I paid $32.99.

Another Amazon purchase was this cropped puffer vest. It’s been a good purchase too! I really like the fit, especially on my short waisted body. I bought a size medium. I paid $34.80.

Just when I thought I was done making purchases, Walmart had to go and release some new pieces! I grabbed this dress, these pull on pants and this v-neck sweatshirt. They feel incredible on! So much so, I bought the v-neck sweatshirt in cream. Total spent at Walmart, approximately $98.

Does it count if you’re buying something to replace the exact same thing because the one you had got old and looked a little gray? Well, that’s what happened with this Chico’s no-iron shirt. Whenever they go on sale I buy one – well, most of the time anyway, because I love a good button up. The quality in incredible and the no-iron? Yes, please. My white one needed to be replaced and as soon as the price dropped, I snagged a new one! I bought the same size I had previously, size 0. Total Spent $63.

The total spent: $415.79. That doesn’t include what I bought at the outlet mall because to be honest, I don’t feel like searching for the receipts. Now that I am back on track I will log each purchase in my planner to keep track.

I hope you enjoyed the return of Closet Confessions! Do you track your purchases? I’d love to know if you have a budget and how you approach shopping for clothing.
