With this week’s much anticipated release of the Barbie movie, Jill and I thought it would be fun to share how we are inspired by Barbie! When I think Barbie I think of super feminine, happy, the color pink, and endless opportunities! Growing up I certainly had my share of Barbie dolls but I really only enjoyed dressing them not so much ‘playing’ with them.

Inspired by Barbie
There is a name for all this Barbie phenomenon in fashion, it’s called Barbiecore. So today I’ve compiled some of my favorite looks to share with you! Maybe you are going to see the movie or maybe not – in any case, I hope you’ll enjoy seeing my take on Barbie! Since Barbie seems to do it all, I thought I’d share a few different styles: Sporty Barbie, Career Barbie, and Casual Barbie. All in good fun mind you!
Aren’t my sunglasses so fun? Super inexpensive from Amazon and a must have for any Barbie look!
Sporty Barbie

Barbie always looks so put together no matter what she’s doing – including exercising! That may not be how I approach exercise but as the saying goes, “Life in plastic, it’s fantastic!” It must be nice to have permanent make up and perfect hair!

For those of us in the real world, let’s settle for looking sporty chic and put together! I immediately thought of two dresses I have that accomplish this goal – my Forever Dress by Jana Carrick Designs and my Zenergy dress from Chico’s.
Career Barbie
Barbie had all kinds of careers! For my career Barbie look I had to grab a blazer. Career Barbie is not afraid to be feminine but also confident and competent.
If you have not already grabbed yourself this slip dress, do it now. I own it in 3 colors. I am wearing a small. It is THE BEST because you can wear a regular bra!!!!

Any inspired by Barbie look is just not complete without my Teddy Blake bag! This bag is my favorite – even over my Gucci and YSL! Mine is the Ava in Fuchsia but there are so many delectable styles and colors. You can use my code TBKellyann30 to save $30 off a bag of your own.

Casual Barbie

When Barbie opts for a casual look, she is not afraid to wear a casual dress or shorts. She wears her retro sunglasses and always a bright lip! My shorts are mostly sold out and my top is completely sold out – such a bummer. I tried to come up with alternatives but basically any fun, feminine look with shorts can be inspired by Barbie as long as you have the right attitude!
