How to Pattern Mix Shorts

The one thing I really didn’t think I needed any more of was shorts. But a funny thing has happened and in the last week I have purchased 4 pair! I’ll blame Target’s BOGO 50% off for 2 pair, the other 2 however were all me! Today I am sharing my latest (and last) shorts purchase. When I saw these at Old Navy I couldn’t help myself. My brain immediately when it to all the cute ways to pattern mix the floral print!

Boy was I in luck when I looked across the store and saw this light pink button up! It was really calling my name! I purchased it in a large, sometimes button ups from Old Navy don’t quite lay right across my chest. I purchased the shorts in my usual size 4. One thing you might notice is my earrings.  These are leather earrings I recently purchased from Jane.com.  I have a pair I wear all the time from Nickel & Suede but they are expensive, around $27.  These were much less expensive, around $11!

Bold floral prints like these shorts work well with so many prints. I’m really just getting started by adding striped tops. You might remember this top. I originally shared it here. It has become one of my most favorites tops and it is under $15 with free shipping and free returns. It has washed up like a dream, hasn’t shrunk and needs NO IRONING. Can I get an amen? Amen! Thank you.

Because I love pink and own so much of it I chose to pattern mix with it but other colors would work well with these bold shorts. Blue and green would be fabulous!

I know you aren’t surprised by what I am wearing as far as shoes go but I wear these all the time – not just on the blog. A new addition is this hot pink Kendra Scott Rayne necklace. To say it’s been on my wish list for awhile would be an understatement. My best friend Windy bought it for my birthday the other night when we went out to celebrate. I’ve mentioned before you get 50% off one piece at a Kendra Scott store during your birthday month so that’s what we did! I’m also always wearing my Kendra Scott cuff. It’s lightweight and beautiful!

Just because it’s hot and humid doesn’t mean we have to wear a t-shirt and shorts to be comfortable. You can still have fun getting dressed and pattern mixing your favorite colors and patterns! Do you enjoy pattern mixing? It’s one way I can be sure I won’t show up wearing the exact same outfit as someone else!

Make this Monday marvelous my friends! You have the power to do it! I am working on my summer bucket list and hope to share it soon. I’m including all the things I feel I need to do to add variety and fun to my normal everyday routine. Do you have a bucket list for summer yet? Tell me! I’ll see you back here on Wednesday!
