Grey and beige are not my usual combination but they sure do look great together! Typically I’d bypass this combo in lieu of something more exciting – I’d turn my nose up to the very idea of neutrals. But no longer. I love the way this neutral combination came together.
Neutrals Do Not Have to Be Boring
You may already have known this, but neutrals don’t necessarily mean boring. I used to be of that mindset but thankfully I am expanding my horizons. My belief was based on those that I knew who wore only neutrals – I am thinking of a teacher I once worked with. Every day was another version of the same outfit, boring neutrals. But it’s not the color combo that defines a look as boring or not – it’s how and what you wear that does in my opinion.

Easily Add a Little Pizazz!
It’s easy to add a little extra something to a neutral combination, do a half tuck, add a few accessories and there ya go – no longer boring. I opted for my nude booties rather than the black I would normally choose. I’m every bit as comfortable as I would have been without these minor adjustments but the end result is much better and more me for sure.

See the Difference
This was not an outfit I ever thought I’d share on the blog. Why? I guess because I never expected to wear this neutral combination it in the first place. It came together organically – completely unplanned. I started the day in the pants and sweater and had my sneakers on. I caught a glimpse of myself and thought – boy I am looking so frumpy today. I was also feeling a little ho hum. So, I decided to play around a bit and you know what? By the end, I not only looked more like myself but I felt better. This just reaffirms my belief that when we look better, we feel better. Our feelings are so strongly attached to our behaviors – even when it comes to presenting ourselves to not only the world but ourselves.

Try it Yourself
I hope that this gets you thinking of the way you present yourself every day. It might surprise you to know that I was going nowhere and seeing no one other than my husband. So why bother? Because I matter and so do YOU. What we see in the mirror shapes our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves so why wouldn’t we want this to be the best version of ourselves? We are worth the extra effort. Take the extra time to try tucking in your top, adding some accessories, and maybe even trying a new to you color combo. Maybe you can try to take a neutral combination up a notch yourself!
