Going Green

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Listen, with a maiden name like O’Donnell you better believe I’m celebrating today!  We’ll have corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, and yummy desserts with a few good spirits mixed in for fun. Irish or not you’re in luck because today I am sharing how I wear my favorite (okay only) pair of green pants.  Now this pair from Gap is old Gap but they have held up so well over the years there’s been no need to replace them! These pants are a true Kelly Green and I’ll be honest when I first bought them I was a little nervous about how I’d style them. Of course I went the comfortable route.  In fact Gap had this striped top near them in the store so I scooped it up and had what I call an “instant outfit” – you know, one that called for zero creativity on my part.  When I wear this combo I feel like I’m dressed for St. Patrick’s Day so needless to say I don’t grab it very often. Since my shirt is old I found this one that I think would be ADORABLE! Here is my original outfit:

As I’ve gotten more comfortable trying new combos and growing in my own sense of style I’m having way more fun with these babies!  I have always loved pink and green together,  this preppy combo screams spring to me.  The hot pink polka dot shirt was purchased last Summer at TJ Maxx.  I love how it looks with these pants and the necklace I am wearing is the icing on the cake!  This one is similar and a terrific piece you’ll get lots of mileage from!  I bought the sandals last Summer but you can find this year’s version here.  Of course I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pull out my favorite clutch from Accessory Concierge. It makes everything better, don’t you think?

You may not be ready to go so bold with your color combos as I have with my pink and green.  Maybe you care for a more subdued look. Then how about wearing the green pants with a black, off the shoulder blouse?  This looks more sophisticated and can easily go from day to night. This tunic comes in black (and other colors) and is similar to my top. Wear these shoes not only with this outfit but everything else in your closet! Nude heels really elongate the leg.  And I apologize for not catching it when my husband was photographing me but the hanger strap on my blouse is showing, ugh!

Since my pants are old here’s a similar pair:

It’s been said that if you’re enough lucky to be Irish then you’re lucky enough! I say luck has nothing to do with it but good style and good fun sure do! Wearing Kelly Green a few different ways is what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today. So tell me, how do you wear green?

Fashionably yours,
Kellyann
