Happy last Friday of September friends! I hope you are as ready for the weekend as I am! We are headed to Gainesville this weekend to see our boy and the game. Only for the day though, I get way too anxious if I’m gone for the whole weekend-I always feel like I need to get things ready for the week ahead. As much as I’d like to say I can just go with the flow and wing it that’s not when I’m at my best and as I’ve gotten older I’m not so interested in trying to change. I like who I am and what makes me tick. Ha! Guess I am owning my crazy!
Today I have 5 things to share with you and I am really all over the place here. These 5 really run the gamut!
First up – my new daily glow moisturizer with self tanner. For years I’ve been buying this one. It’s perfect for moisturizing and getting just enough color to look healthy all while avoiding sun damage. However, last week I stumbled upon Wal-mart’s version and it was $3 cheaper and worked just as well! Score!
Number two: I’ve been having a really hard time lately with how unkind some people have become. Last week was a real humdinger. My friend and I were walking on the street in our neighborhood. Why walk on the street? There are still piles of hurricane debris partially blocking the sidewalks and it’s hard to walk side by side with someone because the sidewalks are narrow. Also, the main street is not a busy one and the speed limit is 25 mph. This lady comes roaring up to us in her SUV and pulls up right along side of us. She starts yelling and screaming like a maniac. We were stunned. Then she pulls away and as she turns onto her street puts her window down and screams “Get on the sidewalk, idiots!” I could hardly believe it. Who is THAT angry at 10:00 on a Saturday morning? Oh, just a MOM FROM MY SCHOOL. #awkward I just couldn’t wrap my head around that kind of anger. And rage. And lack of a social filter. Of course it didn’t end there because she posted on our neighborhood website/Facebook type thing that she needed someone to “explain to her why people insist on walking in the street” she failed to mention her maniacal behavior. Then I read this post from Johanna at 101 Things I love. My heart hurt.
In retaliation of all the anger and hate I started looking for ways to increase kindness all around me.Voila! I found this book. It’s just what I needed, maybe you do too? And the lady in my neighborhood? She has no idea the school counselor that her twin sons LOVE is the person she called an idiot, screamed obscenities at, and tried to run off the road. All in a days work for some people, right? I’m not even joking when I say I wish everyone would pray for more kindness in this world.
Don’t think I’m crazy but my number 3 favorite thing this week is the Target catalog. I know.I know. But have you seen it yet? I mean, honestly it’s so good. The clothes. The home decor. Is it Pottery Barn or Target? You be the judge. Wowza!
Number 4 wear have you been all my life? I mean, really, an in shower facial in just 60 seconds. Come to momma (and her old skin). I read about this product in a magazine and picked it up last week. I love it!
You should try it yourself, so affordable, easy to use,and I LOVED the way my skin felt.
Finally number 5!I mentioned earlier this week that I was going to participate in the Common Threads Challenge . Well I’ve picked my 5 pieces for the challenge. The good news is that my outfit planning is now done for the entire month of October! I actually wrote in my planner what I was wearing everyday so I could be sure the pieces I picked would work.
Here’s what I chose: a striped, short bell sleeve top (similar), this black pencil skirt,my new gingham blouse,my cargo vest (similar) and my olive utility pants (similar). What do you think? Did I choose well? I sure hope so!
I’ll be sharing my first outfit on Monday so be sure to stop back by then. Maybe you’d like to join me? Why not!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today, I so appreciate it!
xo,
Kellyann
