Friday Favorites September 24

Ahhh, the first Friday of fall has arrived! It may feel the same temperature wise in my neck of the woods but my head says fall and it’s officially game on for me. I’m down with the decor and embracing all things pumpkin!

Favorite Decor

It seems fitting then to kick off this week’s favorites with pumpkins. But not just any old pumpkins, take a look at these beauties! At just under $20 they made my bright colored fall dreams come true. I was considering spraying some pumpkins in colors to match my new decor in my living and dining rooms but Amazon (oh how I love thee) came to my rescue.

Favorite Fashion

Fall means wardrobe updates and new trends. I have shared my take on a few recently. Check out my Monday post here and Wednesday post here. My faux leather pants from Walmart are most definitely a favorite for the week. I am still having a hard time believing I paid under $30 for these beauties. They feel amazing – just enough stretch for comfort and fit TTS. If you’re not a fan of faux leather they also come in faux suede as well as denim. I am a huge fan of the cropped, flare leg too.

In the above looks, most of the pieces are old – the leopard blouse (100% silk) is Tory Burch and I purchased it on Poshmark with credits from my own sales, same thing with my cap toe sling backs. These are similar – actually they look identical. I think they are so classic!

Also! Target has tops and denim 20% off this week (using Target Circle) on top of that you can use the code: JEN15 (until 9/26) to get an extra 15% off of clothing and home decor. This is the first time Target has worked with an influencer (Jen is the influencer behind The Sister Studio on IG) and has allowed discounts to be stackable! I’ve ordered some denim and barely paid $20! Here are some of my favorites:

Family Favorite

This picture of my dad and niece makes me think that this is what it was like when they were reunited in heaven. My niece was a professional dancer and this photo was taken after a performance. My dad was congratulating her.

Fall tends to bring up lots of emotions for me. Just three years ago my father was on hospice and we were preparing for his inevitable death. Two years ago my 33 year old niece died unexpectedly and during that time my brother was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer – for the second time. Yes, you read that correctly, he has had two different types of cancer – both rare and aggressive. Last October my brother had surgery after months of oral chemotherapy to remove 60% of his liver, several feet of his colon and what was left of his tumor. Needless to say, we get anxious about his follow up appointments and scans. He posted this on Facebook so I felt like it was okay to share. If you knew my brother you’d know what a jokester he is and it’s very evident in his post. My brother getting good news? Definitely a favorite!

Favorite Fun With Friends

Today from 4-7pm I’ve been invited to the Grand Re-Opening at Versona in Winter Park (for all you local friends). I am excited to attend and hope if you can you will too! There will be drawings for gift cards, food, and drink as well as goody bags for all attendees! Versona is a great destination for affordable accessories and fashion!

That wraps it up for this week’s favorites. This weekend we will be watching football (of course) and celebrating my mom’s birthday. I hope whatever is on your agenda you enjoy and find time to relax and recharge! Thank you so much for stopping by today!
