Red is a color that often symbolizes power and confidence, it’s also associated with passion, love, and sometimes even danger or aggression. One thing’s for sure, it’s a color that is eye catching! This year more than ever red is very popular and we’re seeing it all over. This edition of Friday Favorites is all about the red handbag I recently received from Teddy Blake along with a few other things that caught my attention this week!

A red handbag makes a statement. Besides providing an eye catching color it sets the tone for the overall look of an outfit. This is one of the reasons I believe that carrying a high quality, leather handbag is so important! The right handbag really can make or break an outfit. This doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune to get the right bag. Unlike clothes and even shoes, a handbag is an investment you can enjoy for years to come if you get a good one! My new bag is called the Vera. I love the size of this bag and of course, the color! It’s a 14″ croco embossed bag in dark red and has gold hardware. With two roomy zipper pockets it keeps everything I need organized and secure. It does come with a strap in case you’d prefer to wear the bag as a crossbody but I like wearing it in the crook of my arm.
How to Wear the Red Handbag
One of the best style secrets I’ve learned is that everything needs a friend! Simply put that means that if I’m wearing a red item I need another one to complete a cohesive, stylish, and chic look. So I wouldn’t just throw my red bag on without having red somewhere else in my outfit. That could mean a red lip, shoe, or accessory.
I love the extra zing the red bag adds! It’s so easy to style with trendy leopard or my favorite denim. I think a great bag elevates the entire look.
A Few Other Favorites
Besides the fabulous red bag, let’s take a look at these red shoes! Never in my life would I have imagined a shoe this pretty AND this comfortable would cost less than $40. They also come in black and I am seriously considering them. The memory foam foot bed is such a plus! I sized up a half size thanks to the bunions and arthritis I have in my toes.
Another favorite is of course an old favorite. My blazer! Just yesterday I shared my Quince experience with you and how much I loved the blazer I tried. This red blazer is one I don’t wear often but it’s the Walmart one I own in many colors! It is not available in store and it is not a Walmart brand. It’s been a best seller for me multiple times and for good reason.
