Friday Favorites October 4

Friday is upon us again and it’s time for the weekly round up of some of my favorite things from the week. As per usual there’s a little of this and a little of that in this week’s round up. Let’s get to it!

Over the last few years I have slowly stopped buying prestige or premium brand cosmetics in favor of drug store brands. While I’ve enjoyed saving money and still getting good results I am open to spending more on a product that makes a difference. I purchased the Trish McEvoy Eye Brightening Set during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and was impressed! When I ran out of the Instant Eye Lift I knew I wanted to re-purchase. It is honestly a game changer for me. This time I ordered it from Amazon and it was delivered overnight.

Another cosmetic purchase this week is this fast drying formula from Essie. I bought one bottle at Target and then ordered a different color on Amazon. It goes on easily, dries quickly and has lasted a few days without chipping! Winner!

I’ve also decided that I am back on board with my false eyelashes! I used to wear them often and then stopped. Anyway, I’ve fallen back in love with them. Like so many things, the more you practice the better you get. I’m still working on a great application but in the meantime, I am happy with the result even if it’s not perfect.

Fall Candle Scent

For years now my favorite fall candle scent has been Leaves from Bath & Body Works. It’s hard to describe but it smells like all the best parts of fall! This is what the website says about it and I concur:

What it smells like: spiced, fruity and oh-so cozy (basically everything you love about fall).

Fragrance notes: crisp red apple, golden nectar and warm clove spice.

My other favorite scents are Into the Night and Gingham Glow.

My Favorite Outfit

On Sunday my mom and I had lunch with one of my lifelong best friends and her mom! She was in town and suggested we have our moms tag a long which was so nice! These moms have seen us graduate high school together, graduate college together, get married a month apart, and have kids! Cherish your lifelong friendships.

Anyway, I wore this outfit and of course, it was my favorite from the week. At some point I will stop gushing about these jeans. While I think you absolutely need a pair, there are other retailers who sell the same silhouette.

Favorite Shoes

Anytime I purchase something in multiple colors, it’s safe to say it’s a favorite. I just ordered these shoes in yet another color – black! I already have them in nude leather and cognac suede. I have the Collin (a similar style) as well. Right now they are on sale – 25% off – and I had to grab them.

Here’s what I love – they are comfortable, walkable, and so cute! The heel height is good and they dress up or down easily. Bonus: they come in wide widths!!! If I was still working in a brick-and-mortar school I’d wear them to work. Now that says something! Check out the whole site here.
