Friday is always a welcome sight and this week is no exception. I’m off today to go with my husband to a doctor’s appointment. It’s a follow up to the surgery he had in June. I do promise to write a post on our experience with prostate cancer; hopefully one day soon. That’s a rather unpleasant topic so let’s focus on all the goodness from the week in this edition of Friday Favorites!
Friday Favorites October 18th
The days are flying by and so are the years! This week we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary! I still cannot believe we have been married that long. We had made reservations for dinner on that night (October 15th) and of course I bought my husband a card. You might find this surprising but I am not a big gift person. It’s not my love language – time is! So imagine my surprise when my darling husband came to me at 4:30pm last Friday and said he had planned to buy me a nice piece of jewelry for our anniversary! Don’t laugh but when he first said jewelry, I immediately thought of this ring that I want from Kendra Scott. Bwahahahahaha! Seriously, I am not a fine jewelry girl so it took me a beat to realize he meant an investment piece.
Long story short, we made our way to a local jewelry store and bought an anniversary band! It had to be sized so we could not bring it home. Luckily it was ready by Tuesday and we picked it up on our way out to dinner. I am still in shock that my husband surprised me this way and I’m very grateful he let me pick this out.
Celebrating 30 years of marriage to this guy is definitely a favorite! Brian is kind, gentle, loyal, and very patient. I have to remind myself sometimes how lucky I am that God chose him for me!
I wore this faux leather dress I bought last year from Walmart to our anniversary dinner on Tuesday night. Gosh, I love this dress! It’s still available and comes in black too. I am wearing it in a medium by the way. Of course I brought a blazer to drape over my shoulders. My new shoes are super comfortable – they are by Franco Sarto and I bought them last week on Amazon. I’m so excited to have these! Side note on these shoes, y’all they come in a bunch of colors they have a great heel height and I think you’d love them!
You know how much I love a blazer, right? Well. Last week during Walmart’s Deal Days my favorite blazers were on sale. I bought a navy one as well as a plaid version (apparently the plaid I have is sold out but I linked a similar pattern in the same blazer). They were $22 compared to their regular price of $39. Listen, at $39 they are still an incredible deal for a quality blazer. The brand is Attitude Unknown and they are not available in store. I bought the navy in an XS and the plaid in a S.
The final favorite for this week is my new necklace and bracelet from Allie + Bess. I bought them last week and was thrilled when the package arrived! Great colors for fall and winter and the necklace layers so nicely! They’re on sale and right now you can get both for the original price of the bracelet – crazy town! I am wearing them both in the photo above.
