Friday Favorites – Good Bye April

Good bye April already? Where did the month go? That statement makes me sound like I’m a hundred years old but seriously, the days are ticking by like nobody’s business. Today we are headed to Gainesville to begin the craziness of our younger son’s college graduation. I’ll have a full recap next week but let’s get to this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite #1 Fun with Friends

Since starting my work from home job over 4 years ago, in person interactions with friends and co-workers have come to a halt. So I cherish time spent with friends in person. One of the very best parts of blogging/influencing/social media is making connections and becoming friends IRL. *Also, the fact that I just used IRL instead of spelling it out totally cancels out my earlier comment about where the month went. Proving that I am, in fact young and hip and not one hundred. But I digress. My friend, Carla, coordinated a lunch this week and it was fun to catch up with these ladies. My experiences so far with women in this field have been nothing but supportive and encouraging. Sure, there are struggles we all feel and it’s nice to have others to vent to, complain to, heck even cry to if necessary but we all show up and push ourselves to learn and soar to new heights.

Favorite #2 Setting Goals and Digging Deep

Piggybacking on Favorite #1, setting goals and digging deep comes in #2 and has to do with what I do in this space. I am not one to lie stagnant anywhere but I need to be sure that what I want to achieve is a good fit for me. For a few years I have been trying to figure out what to do on social media and if I really needed a presence. Instagram growth to be exact. My growth has been much slower than some and that is a direct reflection of my efforts. The more effort put in to anything yields more results and I have had to face the truth: I wanted big returns from little effort. It doesn’t work that way. So, I am digging deep and finding my footing. I’m learning to do things outside of my comfort zone and it’s a good thing. When you do the same thing over and over again and expect different results you are simply spinning your wheels. I am showing up and getting the job done.

My goal is to build a community of like minded women who want to dress and be the best version of themselves each and every day. I will get to 10k on Instagram this year and 500 on the LTK app. This will be hard work but I’m all in. I encourage you to set goals and dig deep too!

Favorite #3 – This Book!

Y’all, this book! Last Friday I shared a few books I read and they were good. But this one? Was very good. I hated to return it to the library but at the same time felt the need to get it back quickly so the next patron could receive it.

Favorite #4 – A Good Dupe

I’m officially stating here that my favorite shorts are the Brigitte shorts from Chico’s (check out last week’s post). They are slimming, comfortable and I love the different lengths. The price point may be a little higher and of course I’ll grab them on sale but Kohl’s has a version that is very affordable. They pull on and have a great length too. I’ve ordered a pair in black. Right now they are on super sale with the code: GOSAVE25. I have shorts from Kohl’s that are more than 5 years old and they have held up very well so I feel comfortable saying these will be a good dupe for the Chico’s version.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I appreciate it so very much. I hope to have a weekend wrap up post on Monday covering all the graduation activities and events.
