This Holy Week has been one like no other and while I am missing out on all the special services my church offers I am doing my best to embrace what I CAN still participate in, how about you? How are you celebrating? Don’t give up and please don’t think of how much better next year will be. Tomorrow is not a promise so let’s make the best of TODAY, okay?
While my Easter dinner will be very different from the norm, I am taking this opportunity to embrace it. With only 4 of us seated at the table I can use my good china! Also? We get to totally control the menu. I asked the boys and they requested prime rib, green bean casserole, and chocolate cheesecake for dessert. I’ll make mashed potatoes, a salad and rolls as well.
I bought tons of Easter candy for the boys last weekend. All their favorites including plenty of Reese’s Easter eggs, Starburst jelly beans, and Sour Patch candy. This year I had planned to update their Easter baskets but never got around to it, so we’ll pull out the old ones. My boys could not care less what the basket looks like they only want the candy!
Since I’ll miss seeing my cutie patootie 4 year old niece, I ordered some things from Amazon for her. She’s usually so busy at preschool and I know my sister is looking for ways to keep her busy. She loves books and writing so I know she’ll enjoy this unicorn handwriting practice book along with a few other fun books!
My Easter decor has not made it’s way out of storage boxes, with the exception of one candle! What can I say? It’s not happening. I was inspired by this post from my friend Carrie. As soon as I can I will be making these colorful wood books. I’d also like to buy some colorful pom pom garland to use for spring and summer. This is on my wishlist!
My friend Laura sent me this candle last year. It is one of my very favorites and even though it is small, it packs a powerful punch! The fragrance is strong enough to make the whole room smell so good! It reminds me of how much I love these candles. They are a splurge but so worth it!
There are so many great sales right now and I have been trying hard to resist the temptation! Sole Society has 40% off right now with an extra 15% off your first online order. I would love to own these! Nordstrom has lots of things marked down and I am seriously considering this jacket. I have a $50 gift card from Christmas that would help. Loft is also having terrific sales, did you catch my post on Wednesday? My jumpsuit is on super sale!
