Usually I am so happy to see Friday roll around but today I’m filled with mixed emotions as we move our youngest son Collin into his dorm at the University of Florida. This time around is easier because we know what to expect and he’ll be at the same school as his brother. But it’s still gonna be tough not to see his sweet face on a daily basis. We’ll be crazy busy getting him settled today and then tomorrow we have big plans! We are going to Tampa with friends to see Journey and Def Leppard! I am so excited and I’ll have a report for you next week. But let’s get to this week’s favorites!
Favorite #1 – Last dinner out with my boys for awhile. We went out to dinner with my parents on Sunday night and we had such a good time with the boys! Gosh this boy of mine was home for barely a week, I love spending time with him!
Favorite #2 – My bucket list included painting my breakfast nook table and chairs. I am proud to say I can check that off my list! I’m kinda in love with how it turned out! The table and chairs had been black to begin with bit not anymore! In case you’re wondering how I achieved this look I used Dixie Bell Chalk Mineral Paint as a base in Sandbar, Dixie Bell glaze in Grey Smoke and then sealed the whole thing in Dixie Bell Gator Hide. I bought the fabric at JoAnn’s!
Favorite #3 – On Monday Sheaffer Told Me To did a post about shopping at JCPenney. At the bottom of the post she included this! I had to get it! Want one? Get it here.
Favorite #4 -Last weekend I saw the movie “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” on Netflix. I loved the story and the scenery and I keep thinking about it. My friend Mary (who is from Guernsey) was not as enthralled as me because somethings were not accurate, check out her post on the film here. I get that, when you live in a place and it’s depicted incorrectly it’s hurtful. I did enjoy the story and the acting though! I was touched by the fact that reading books became such a lifesaver for this group.
Favorite #5 – My mom wanted to send my boys back to school with things they’ll need, or so she says. Take a look at what she brought for Collin. She has a major sweet tooth and assumes everyone else does too! So the love of grandmothers is my favorite!
My other favorite will be a continuing favorite as I remind you to link up with The Blended Blog!
Have a great weekend loves!
