Friday Favorites #27

Didn’t if feel like Friday on Tuesday? That’s what happens when we have a holiday in the middle of the week! Here’s hoping your 4th was full of fun, food, family, friends, and of course celebrating our freedom!

Speaking of the 4th and freedom, my first favorite this week is: I got contact lenses so I am now free of glasses!!! Yippeeeeeee! Here’s the deal. I never wore glasses but once I hit my 40’s my eyesight steadily worsened. Two years ago I started wearing glasses 24/7 and what a drag. Last Summer I tried contacts. The eye doctor I saw gave me two options, neither worked. This year I changed doctors and it was like magic! The very first pair worked! I am LOVING them and feel like myself again. I am so happy to add this contact lens case and drops to my daily routine!

Favorite #2 – I love hosting 4th of July! In years past we had several other couples over and always had fun. Life changes have occurred for the former party group and now it’s just us and our best friends. Even though the crowd has thinned I still enjoy hosting. For my birthday my best friend Melodie gave me this beautiful platter. It’s the brand Nora Fleming and the best part is this “mini” that is removable and totally changes the look. I now have a new obsession! I want all the cute minis to change out for all the holidays and I’d love to collect more of the platters and serving pieces. Have you heard of Nora Fleming yet?

Favorite #3 – speaking of friends, well you know I’m still flying high from meeting Lisa in real life! I have found that as we go through life friends come and go through the different seasons. I am blessed to have several best friends who’ve been in my life for years and will always be a part of it. But God has put women like Lisa in my life along with my other blogging buddies like Andrea and I am eternally grateful.

Favorite #4 On Tuesday I shared my new convertible dress (here)! What’s a convertible dress you ask? It’s one that does double duty – it works as a dress or a skirt. Find it here. I am loving the fabric – it’s just the right weight, has enough stretch to smooth all the lumps and bumps and washes well.

Favorite #5 I love a good recipe, especially if it’s easy and everyone likes it! Back in May, the sweet and adorable Brooke of Pumps and Push Ups shared some amazing grilled chicken recipes. I made the Dijon Sriracha recipe and it has been on serious repeat around here. I have lost track of the number of times we’ve made it. In fact we made it for the 4th an dour friends wanted the recipe! Try it here.
So that’s it for today friends. What a busy but wonderful week we’ve had. I wish you a happy weekend and look forward to seeing you back here on Monday!
