Happy Friday Friends!
I love the idea of sharing favorites on Fridays with you all, I hope you enjoy it too! Today I have a random round up for you.

Because I love to shop I am always on the hunt for the best deal. When it comes to beauty products especially I love to save money by finding great dupes for more expensive products. Nars blush in the color Orgasm is a favorite of many. I love the peachy, pink color but not the $30 price tag. I received a sample of it form Nordstrom and was surprised to see how closely it matches the color in this contouring palette from Maybelline. Seriously the blush colors are practically identical and the Maybelline contouring palette has a highlight shade and contouring for a fraction of the cost. Score! So to try and show you just how similar these colors are I snapped this picture and you know what? It’s not a good one but I think you get the idea, I placed the sample of the Nars blush in Orgasm on the top so you could see the colors next to one another. And it’s safe to say Ulta and Sephora won’t be calling me any time soon to do photographs for them, lol.

On Monday I mentioned my son’s 17th birthday. Because his birthday was on the Monday we returned from Spring Break we celebrated with a small family dinner and cake. You know how you sometimes make a meal for your family and they request it over and over again? Well, favorite #2 this week is quickly becoming that meal for my family. It’s the one my older son requests when he comes home from school and it’s become everyone’s choice for birthday or other special occasion dinners. Andrea’s Baked Sweet & Sour Chicken is the best! It’s gotten to the point that whenever I bring home a large pack of chicken breasts I automatically cut up several in 1 inch pieces and freeze them so they’ll be ready to go when this dinner is requested. Please check out the recipe collection on her blog here for the recipe , I know you’ll love it! Actually all of Andrea’s recipes are terrific.

My goals for Spring Break included treating myself to a delicious and beautiful latte. This may sound funny but I do not splurge on expensive coffee drinks. I don’t like spending the money and I am always so cautious about added calories. On top of that my husband isn’t a coffee drinker so I don’t really have anyone to go out on a coffee date with! Thanks to social media #curseyouinstagram I set my sights on getting a beautiful latte complete with a gorgeous heart or leaf design in the froth. My older son calls me a hipster foodie, lol! After asking on Facebook I found just what I was looking for at a local bakery. Collin and I had a yummy breakfast at the bakery where we sat outside and enjoyed not only the weather but one another’s company. And I LOVE that my boy still enjoys spending one on one time with me just talking.
Alright friends, I think that about does it for this week’s favorites. I’m ready for the weekend, how about you? Have you tried a fancy latte? If you’re looking for a new recipe to try I hope you’ll check out the recipe tab on Andrea’s blog. Thinking of sprucing up your make up routine for Spring? Then definitely check out this contouring palette from Maybelline!
