Today is a special day as my nephew, Tyler turns 21! His birthday is extra special to me because once he came along Brian and I were so smitten we jumped on the baby bandwagon. Tyler is extremely intelligent, handsome, and disciplined. Love that nephew of mine! Furthermore, according to my son Collin, today is a senior skip day. So there’s that. Pretty much just a special day all around, huh?
Let’s kick things off with an Easter picture!
Friday favorites #1 My Easter Dress! On Sunday I shared my new dress here and it seems many of you liked it just as much as me! Although my plans included wearing the dress for Easter Sunday it was a little dreary when I woke up. Knowing we would be in the car for several hours that day also had me thinking pants would be a better choice with this amazing top The good news is that I am wearing the dress this weekend! The better news is that you can score it for 40% off using the code HAPPY. You’ll be HAPPY to know I’m wearing it in a medium and it is available in 4 colors!
Favorite #2 of course I have to include a bargain! Last time I stopped at Style Encore to sell some of my clothes I ended up finding this pearl necklace (similar). Such a deal! Originally $52 from JCrew and I scored them for $14!
Favorite #3 Spending Easter with both of my sons and two of Nolan’s roommates. Its hard having kids away at school but it’s a little easier knowing they are happy and living with a good group of friends. Since Nolan couldn’t come to us we went to him and brought dinner for all! Before you get too impressed let me tell you I kept it simple. I made a ham, homemade macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, and cake for dessert. We brought dinner rolls and I boiled eggs for the boys to color. I also left a huge Easter basket filled with candy for them to share. In my opinion the best place for candy is at someone else’s home! This is a picture of me in action – mommin’ hard! These boys needed lots of instruction to color eggs! #bossy
Favorite #4 Kappa Delta 40th Anniversary weekend!
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves! When I mentioned this to someone recently they thought I joined 40 years ago! My beloved Kappa Delta sorority is celebrating 40 years on the UCF campus. I pledged in 1987. My sorority years were some of the best years of my life; I learned so much about so many things! The Greek system gets a bad rap sometimes but contrary to popular belief I never felt like I was ‘paying for friends’. What I remember is being a part of a group of young women who worked together to accomplish goals, we raised money for charity, participated in social events, planned and scheduled recruitment events, etc. Needless to say I am looking forward to hugging the necks of some women I haven’t seen in years and remembering good times!
Favorite #5 Target, Target, Target! I can’t stay away. On Wednesday I walked in,list in hand, headed towards the grocery section of the store. You know, woman on a mission! Right before heading to the check out I got a text from my sweet friend Andrea. She was in Target and shared a picture of some goodness she stumbled upon. If that’s not divine intervention I don’t know what is! The good news is I bought NOTHING (I am trying to behave this month). I did snap a few pictures of a couple of pieces that had me seriously considering making a purchase!
Look at this cute striped yellow top! Deal for only $16.99! I couldn’t find this online yet, sorry!
