Thanks to President’s Day on Monday and a personal day off on Tuesday, this has been a short and sweet week. Monday marked the one year anniversary of losing my dad and I spent the day with one of my very best friends. My family got together on Sunday night and had one of my dad’s favorite meals. So that was that – my year of “firsts” is officially over.
One of my favorites this week was a favorite last year when I made it for my dad’s birthday last February. I made this German Chocolate Fudge Pie
If you or someone you know loves German Chocolate you need to make this. It’s rich and delicious but also incredibly easy to make. It will always remind me of that last birthday!
Speaking of birthdays, my husband had a birthday this week. He’s such an easy going and easy to please guy that it is often hard to celebrate him. On Saturday we spent the day at the Winter Garden Farmer’s Market – about 45 minutes away. It was a wonderful day and Winter Garden has such a cute downtown area.
Afterwards we swung by the Kendra Scott store to cash in on his birthday discount! My girl math brain figured out that his discount would get me a very affordable Valentine’s present! Ha! So one of my gifts to him was being able to save money. #workedlikeacharm I had been eyeing a new pair of earrings that I could wear with anything and that could easily be worn for dressier occasions. These fit the bill!
I tried this fun tie dye top this week. Have you tried the trend yet this year? It’s everywhere! The colors in this top are so much better in person and I love the side slit hem – makes it perfect for knotting or even a front tuck. it’s on sale this week (my favorite 4 letter word!).
It looks great with these affordable jeans. They have the perfect amount of distressing and a raw edge hem. Love them!
My very favorite candle scent from Bath and Body Works is Mahogany Teakwood High Intensity. Not only were they $10 off but I had a 20% off my entire purchase coupon so I stocked up! Do you have a favorite scent?
One more favorite before I sign off for the weekend, Nickel & Suede’s earring of the month is only $22. I’m thinking these would make a perfect gift for someone you know or even yourself!
Of course since it’s Friday I am linking up with Narci, Andrea, and Erika for Friday Favorites!
