Favorite Valentine Looks & Gifts

Hey friends! Here we are on February 4 with just 10 days until the day we celebrate love. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite Valentine looks with you.

When I worked in an actual brick and mortar elementary school, I had fun wearing red and pink. The school was abuzz with candy, cards, and all kinds of gifts. I remember well hearing the phrase, “Happy Valentime’s Day!!” It never failed, the kids always called it Valentime’s! Just thinking of that makes me smile.

Typically we do not go out on Valentine’s Day, I prefer staying in. We will go out in the days before or after – and “celebrate”. Take that with a grain of salt; we have been married 27 years and we’re basically empty nesters. But any time I go out with my husband I try to look my best.

Favorite Valentine’s Look #1

My sweater dress tops the list of favorite Valentine looks. I think it’s very sexy in a subtle way. Nothing is revealed, no skin showing, it is flattering, skims the body and is comfortable. Most importantly I feel good in it. it is currently on sale for $44 and is also available in black.

For a more casual Valentine’s look but one that is just as pretty, I would wear my hot pink silk blouse with my charcoal denim jeans. Again, this is a favorite Valentine’s look because the color is a good one on me, I feel confident, and pretty. Isn’t that the point? I say we dress for ourselves first in what we feel great in. When you have that inner glow that comes from confidence it’s hard not shine on the outside too.

Y’all this blouse is an extra 60% off the sale price right now and it is GORGEOUS!

Favorite Valentine’s Look #3

I did wear my casual Valentine’s tee that I purchased a few years ago on Amazon just yesterday to run errands. Let me say I felt a little silly in it and I am not so sure it really suits me anymore. I prefer something more subtle but a graphic tee like this would be a favorite Valentine’s look for something kid centered.

Favorite Valentine’s Gifts

Gifts are not my love language but I do still enjoy a little something for those I love. I enjoy sending my sons cookies from Cheryl’s Cookies. A sweet treat is so appreciated by them and Cheryl’s has such fun boxes.

I give my husband a card – that I purchase from Dollar Tree. His birthday is 5 days later and this man never wants anything. He is so low maintenance it is pathetic! I usually suggest we treat ourselves to a more expensive dinner although I have been known to send him Cheryl’s cookies too!

The running joke at our house is that my favorite Valentine’s gift is the one I get at Kendra Scott using my husband’s birthday discount! This year however, I decided to forego that option. While I had planned to scoop up a few more of my favorite bracelets from Canvas Style, I ended up ordering a pair of Print Fresh pajamas during their sale last week. They are expensive – even on sale – but I am a true believer. I have been converted from the woman who wore crummy pjs to someone who loves the fun, cotton prints from Print Fresh. It started with a fun robe and now I find myself scouring their site looking for a deal. So last weekend I ordered a pair and I cannot wait for them to arrive!

I don’t buy gifts for anyone else, except my sweet little 5 year old niece. She gets enough candy so I buy books. I picked up these three at Target yesterday. I’ll wrap them up in a cute red bag and she’ll be thrilled!
