One of my favorite color combinations is blue and green. It’s classic, preppy, and crisp making it perfect for this time of year. Spring is merely weeks away and for me it’s time to pull out my favorite blue and green outfit!
Last Friday I shared this green shirt as part of my February Closet Confessions. It’s called The Big Shirt and it’s aptly named because it’s definitely oversized, I am wearing a small for reference. This gorgeous color will work with so many others but since blue and green is a favorite combo of mine, I had to start with this outfit. I wore it on Tuesday and it was perfect for a day of working from home and some errands.
A note about this shirt just in case green isn’t a favorite of yours, it comes in several other colors as well as stripes! The hot pink is stunning but I am hoping to snag the blue stripe combo. It’s made of organic cotton and feels so good.
My striped sweater is from Amazon and it is so well made. It’s a great thick cotton and looks so much more expensive. Instead of tying it around my neck, I used a clear elastic. I’m not if it works but you never know until you try. I should add that it was not quite cool enough to layer the sweater over the shirt but draping it over my shoulders worked just fine.
My light wash denim provided a great contrast to the vibrant green of my shirt. I kept my accessories to a minimum only adding my favorite bracelets, a simple necklace, and my new gold hoops. My neutral belt and comfy loafers completed the look. But then I thought about changing my shoes, so out came my sneakers and then my clear heels!
My jeans are “mom jeans” from Versona. They’re sold out but this pair is very similar. This style of denim is very trendy right now and they’re fun to wear for a change because they are so comfortable. Initially I wasn’t sure what shoes would look best with them but the more I wear them, the easier it becomes to style them!
Do you have a favorite color combination? I have many but blue and green is a definite favorite. Maybe because the weather is warming up and this pretty combo gives me spring feels. In any case, I hope this post inspires you to try this combination if you haven’t already!
