One of my favorite memories as a little girl was getting dressed up for Easter. I’d wear a new dress, patent leather shoes, ankle socks (with lace of course), and get a new purse! I’d wear it to church and shove Easter candy in the new bag because, really, what else does a little girl need on Easter? As a mom with 2 young boys I loved shopping for cute outfits for them as well. Now that’s all changed and they dress themselves, I however, still love the idea of a new Easter dress! Even better when it’s under $20!
Lately I’ve scooped up so many good dresses I wasn’t sure which one I’d wear but my husband thought this was the one. Since he’s also ‘the one’ I figured I’d indulge him and go with it. Speaking of my husband (and photographer) we can thank him for not telling me the ruffle on left shoulder was messed up. Good help is hard to find – ha!!
This will make a great Easter dress for me. Our church is definitely more casual and it’s already so hot here that this lightweight fabric will keep me cool. Of course if by some strange turn of events it actually cools off here, I could easily add a denim jacket.
The dress has pockets too – so if I wanted to shove some candy in them…I could! The dress doesn’t zip or button anywhere so it’s easy – breezy to throw on and go. It comes in 4 color ways and I am wearing a size small. While I love it with my wedges, it would be darling with a cute flat sneaker!
I know last year we could not attend services in person nor could we be with our family. I still wore a new dress and watched our church service online. This year I plan to make up for that – I missed all the special events our church holds during holy week so this year I plan to attend as many as I can. We don’t have plans made yet as to what we will do after church but that’s fine by me. What are your Easter plans? Do you know what you’ll wear yet?
