Dressing My Body Type and Style Six Link Up

If you missed my post on Monday, check it out here. My Ageless Style friends and I discussed dressing our body types. While I don’t believe in fashion rules I do believe that our body types play a role in how our clothing fits and looks. So I try to remember the concepts in this book as they pertain to my body type – a medium rectangle. It helps me avoid frustration and makes shopping easier.

Let me also say that it’s not like anyone is telling you that you are forbidden from wearing certain items but if you want to look your best and make the most of your assets then take the suggestions in the book. So today I’m sharing two tops that fit into the suggested styles for my body type.

I’m feeling all the beautiful blue fall vibes lately and Target must be too! I love blue all year and it’s a little unexpected for fall – I enjoy that. Fall usually means rusts, burgundy, mustard, olive but blue can hold it’s own in the line up. I grabbed these beautiful blouses on Saturday and I am smitten!

First up, this beautiful wrap blouse. I styled it three ways, one with my white flare leg pants, with denim and then with a corduroy skirt. I just love how versatile it is. All too often we categorize clothes as work/professional or casual/fun. I hope you’ll see this blouse works for both.

The second blouse is a peasant style (also as the book suggested) and if the print looks familiar it should. Remember that cute dress from last week? Yep, same print. I could not pass up this top because it reminds me so much of this one I tried to get at Anthro. The $15 price tag is hard to pass up. Bonus? It is available up to size 4X for the same price!!!

My favorite post from last week is this one from my friend Kim of Fierce Fashion. Check out these tie dyed jeans!
