A tradition in our family is our annual Christmas brunch. It’s held at our adopted uncle’s home. Our Uncle Richard has lived down the street from my parents for 40 years and has been a special part of our lives. This is something we look forward to every year. The food is always delicious and his home is decorated so beautifully. He’s also the uncle that gifts our children 12-13 ornaments a piece each year and what the majority of our tree is decorated with. I’m sharing what I wore and a little decor from our Christmas Brunch.
As luck would have it our cold snap is over. The weather is heating up and we are expected to have 80 degree temps several days this week. Sigh. It’s hard to figure out what to wear when the temps go up and down like this but that’s life in Florida. I decided on a black cold shoulder top (similar under $34)and my faux leather leggings. Turned out I was perfectly comfortable!
I have to tell you, brunch was at 9:30 and these pictures were taken around 2pm. I was exhausted! After brunch we went to Target and then grocery shopping. I did absolutely nothing to prepare for these photos – make up had been on since 8. I’m telling you this because my make up held up well despite my oily skin and hot weather. When I applied my make up I tried the “baking” method. I am pleased with the results. Remember when I posted about keeping your make up meltproof here? I still use those same steps but I added the baking process. There are lots of videos on Youtube about it if you’re interested.
I am so glad I purchased these shoes (under $40) because I’ve worn them several times already and they are so good! They are comfortable for my fickle feet and they look great with everything. I highly recommend. If you haven’t yet purchased these faux leather leggings (under $20) you need to change that immediately. Y’all these are fabulous! They run big, I am wearing an XS but they are perfection. Comfortable, breathable and they look good with so much, seriously heels to sneakers! Get them now, thank me later. This necklace is similar to mine. This is the perfect time of year to bring out all the bling! My leopard clutch is sold out – boo! But this one gets rave reviews!
Here are a few pictures of our Uncle Richard’s home. He is a retired art teacher and I think you’ll be able to tell right away he is very talented and has left no detail unnoticed.
Finally I wanted to share with you these napkin rings that he made using a cut up paper towel roll and ribbon. So creative, right?
I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I also hope you enjoy this last week before Christmas. I can hardly believe it’s in 7 days, are you ready?
