Cargo Pants & Sweater Tank from Kohl’s
The dog days of summer are upon as school starts and the dreams of cooler temperatures take root. Last Friday after a rainstorm the temps dropped to 75 degrees – practically winter in FL! These cargo pants & sweater tank from Kohl’s were perfect for that weather. The end of one season and the anticipation of the next is often referred to as “transition” – this, my friends, is what I call a transition outfit.

Cargo Pants?
Cargo pants are aptly named so because they typically have large pockets in which one would carry tools. This style of pant was designed purely out of function for the military back in the 1930s. But just as we have taken camo and made it fashionable, we’ve done the same with cargo pants. Now anyone can wear them!

This pair from Kohl’s comes in 3 colorways, olive, navy, and black. They are a nice weight and the elastic at the ankle is not tight. They fit nicely and can easily be worn with a flat sandal or even a sneaker. I saw this outfit on Tania from 50 is Not Old and liked it so much on her, I figured I’d check it out!
Sweater Tank: the oxymoron
This high neck sweater tank is a nice transition piece although it does seem a bit of an oxymoron to me. Why would anyone need a sleeveless sweater? If it’s cool enough for a sweater, wouldn’t your arms get cold? Like jump shrimp, the sweater tank only sounds funny but it’s actually quite good.

This particular one from Kohl’s is a chunky acrylic knit. It has side slits and the arm holes come up high enough to cover my bra from the side. I do wish the weave was just a bit tighter, because I feel like if you look closely enough you can see my strapless bra. I actually like this one better from Banana Republic Factory.
The sweater tank is a great now and later piece. You can wear it alone now and then later with a blazer or jacket. It certainly scores points for versatility and if you run hot – then sleeveless is the way to go!
Dressier Cargo Pants
I have a dressier pair of cargo pants from 2020. I really like this pair, they feel silky and luxurious and they drape nicely. This style does seem to be trending – I found a pair at Banana Republic Factory that I love. They are made of tencel, so they’ll drape differently than the pair from Kohl’s.

Wrap Up
Have you started transitioning your wardrobe yet? It’s not necessarily a thing here in FL since it’s always hot but I do like to change up the colors a bit each season. Cargo pants and a sweater tank is a nice way to live in summer while dipping a toe into fall, don’t you think?
Thanks for stopping by today friends, I appreciate it so much!
