Birthday Blush

Monday again, and this one is a doozy. It’s back to work and school after Spring Break and it’s my younger son’s 17th birthday! I know it sounds cliche but I cannot believe my baby is 17. Honestly it seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital to join our older son. The last 17 years have flown by but not a day has gone by that I haven’t thanked God for my son Collin. He has such a sweet soul and is an absolute joy. I’m getting a huge lump in my throat and tears in my eyes just thinking about the last 17 years, aren’t our children’s birthdays so special?

Alright then, let’s talk about what I am wearing to deal with this day. While I am thrilled to celebrate my son I’d be lying if I said I was excited about heading back to work. Because I’m not. Not even a little. Ugh. Times like these call for an outfit I am both comfortable in as well was aesthetically pleasing. This outfit is both. I am wearing my Harper pants in blush, my new Crispin earrings, a new ruffle top (on sale), and new Vionic sandals..

The ruffle tee is such a nice top! The quality is terrific, it has a nice stretch to it. I noticed that the blush color appears to be sold out but it’s still available in navy blue. I ordered both the blush and the navy blue but in different sizes. I am wearing the blush in a size small and I like the fit; the medium in navy blue was a little too big in the shoulders. The navy blue would be great for Summer – think Memorial Day and 4th of July, such a cute top! The sale price is awesome, so scoop it up before it’s gone!

I’m happy with this outfit, the color is one of my favorites and certainly brightens my mood! You’ll notice I am wearing Vionic sandals. This is my first pair and it appears I’ll be wearing them alot thanks to the advice of my new podiatrist. Apparently my medical degree (courtesy of WebMD) was no match for his actual medical degree and I’ll need foot surgery to correct and take care of the foot pain I suffer from. I was ready for a cortisone shot but he had other plans, lol. We haven’t scheduled a date yet because surgery means I won’t be able to exercise for 6 – 8 weeks and that has me concerned #freakingoutismorelikeit. These shoesare super comfortable and they don’t look too bad. On a side note you should have seen his face when I asked him if he could make orthotics for 3 inch heels. Apparently podiatrists are not fans of anything over an inch #completelyunacceptable. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you updated on the status of #Shoegate.

Wearing a cheery color like blush in my most comfortable pieces is my prescription for facing Monday. That’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today, have you bought anything in blush yet?

Fashionably yours,
Kellyann
