The holidays can be expensive in many ways – gifts to buy, special foods to make, dinners out, cards to send, the list goes on and on. If you’re a fashionista you’ll also need to include new outfits to wear to the many events the season brings. The good news is there are great options at any price point and today I have a beautiful affordable holiday dress to share with you!

Affordable Dress for the Holidays
This dress is from the Scoop brand at Walmart. I ordered it online, of course, because my store hardly ever has anything this nice on the rack. While it comes in 4 colorways, the green said festive, holiday to me! I am wearing it in a medium, I could have gone with a small. Order your true size in this one.

Style Hack – Making the Affordable Dress Look Better and More Expensive
I usually steer clear of tie waist dresses. Not having much of a waist and a tummy with a large chest usually means this style is a no-go for me. But, I did see this dress on several other women and thought I’d take a chance. Once it arrived I knew my initial instinct had been right. Now I’m not saying it’s terrible tied in front but I’m not crazy about it that way.

However, it occurred to me that the dress didn’t have to tie in the front. Who says I can’t exercise a little creative control and tie it around back? The result was amazing and I suddenly had a dress I really liked! I think worn this way it looks more expensive and richer.

Accessories Finish the Look
The Jacynda kitten heel is my holiday heel. Along with this sparkly bag from Amazon and an old bracelet I have the accessories I need to create a perfect look for the holidays! Changing the accessories can make the dress more wearable for work or everyday rather than holiday or special event appropriate.

Thanks for stopping by today! I appreciate it more than I can express.
