3 Sweaters Perfect for Winter

Regardless of what you’re seeing in stores right now, we are barely a month into winter! Since spring doesn’t officially arrive until March 19 we have not seen the last of cold weather. In other words, don’t ditch the sweaters yet, instead enjoy them! I have 3 sweaters perfect for winter to share with you today. The best news is that they are all classic styles you can wear year after year!

3 Sweaters Perfect for Winter

Since winter is pretty mild in Florida I don’t have a large sweater wardrobe. On top of that I used to think most sweaters were pretty boring. In fact this year the plan was to avoid buying them all together. But then it seemed the heavens opened up and served me a few I could not pass up!

My 3 Favorite Sweaters

These are the 3 sweaters I am wearing over and over again. One is from last year and the other 2 were this season. The quality and styling are so good I can see myself wearing them for years to come.

Since I mentioned finding sweaters boring, allow me to explain what I like about these. It’s the details, All 3 have a an open neck – on my larger chest crew necks are not always the best look. The open neck breaks up the look of all that fabric and I find it more flattering. The other thing that keeps these sweaters interesting is that they all have stripes. Stripes will never go out of style but I have heard that they are trending in 2024 so you’ll see lots of them!

Here are the 3 sweaters perfect for winter in my opinion. You’ll see how easy they are to style. Each one is made of a great quality knit, they aren’t scratchy and don’t feel like cheap, acrylic versions you sometimes find in affordable knitwear. The other bonus? They don’t pill – that is one of my pet peeves!

Sweater #1 I bought in December, 2022 (yes, over a year ago!). It is currently unavailable but I linked a similar version. The 1/4 zip, wide collar, and neutral colorway make it one I love wearing. I am wearing it in a small.

Sweater #2 is a more recent purchase, December 2023. It’s a lot like the first one – yep, I have a type. Again, wearing it in a small. I wore this on Sunday to a food truck festival. It kept me warm with the puffer vest and turtleneck layered underneath.

The 3rd sweater has a fun, varsity stripe and classic, preppy styling. Wearing it with jeans but I know it will look great with shorts this spring. Wearing a small in this one as well.

What Makes the Perfect Sweater?

Honestly it’s very subjective! What works for me may not work for you but overall, I’d say these 3 sweaters are fairly versatile and there’s something for everyone. All 3 are warm and can be layered if needed so whether you’re in Orlando or Boston you can wear these. The price point is good too – not that price should be the only factor but it helps. Gone are the days of wearing cheap, acrylic knits. I’m looking for soft, comfortable fabrics that fit my style.

I can always tell when I’ve made a good purchase if I wear it right away. Actually if I wear it right away and then again. And again. And again. Ha!! That is the case with these 3. In fact, the varsity striped sweater is also available in a pink stripe and I want it – it is out of stock in my size but you know me. #stalker
