Think Pink

The start of school is just around the corner, in fact I head back to school on Monday. Usually back to school signals the start of Fall – kind of silly since Fall doesn’t officially begin until September 22. Even sillier, it’s still super hot here until well after that so buying Fall clothes to head back to school is completely unnecessary. Summer is still in full force here so for now I’m going to think pink and wear my favorite color as much as possible!

I found this top at a local boutique – ModMarket for you local gals. Boutiques are fun to shop, sometimes you find one of a kind pieces that help you stand out. Because space is limited in boutiques there are often sales because they are trying to move inventory quickly. My top was on a 30% off rack, too good to be true! I love the color, bright pink is my very favorite color – and the detail on the hem. Of course hot pink goes with everything but to keep things cool I wore it a pair of white shorts and my new favorite wedges. Take a look:

As you can see it has a tie front that I chose to leave untied. The necklace I am wearing was also purchased at ModMarket. I have actually been on the hunt for a pink necklace so I was thrilled to find this one!

Anytime I can grab my all time favorite clutch from Accessory Concierge I do!

These wedges are a lot like wearing Birkenstocks but in a nice, high wedge form. Actually I think I could wear them to work but change them for the hour I am doing lunch duty. Mostly because the floor is so hard and I have to move quickly and don’t want to fall! I am finding the older I get the more expensive my shoes have become. That’s not all bad I guess because I am now buying fewer pairs so my closet space (or lack thereof) is thanking me. You know I’ve come to realize that while I honestly don’t mind getting older the things I miss the most are my old feet and my old eyes that didn’t require glasses! Those two issues have seriously been the hardest for me. I miss the old days when I could grab a pair of shoes because I liked the style and if they fit I bought them. I can no longer flippantly buy a pair of shoes and I am having a hard time letting go of shoes that are no longer comfortable. Won’t my feet ever feel better? Sigh.

Do you like to shop in boutiques? Honestly I don’t get in much during the school year but in the Summer I love to pop in. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

XO,
Kellyann

    1. Thanks Blaire! Boutiques are so fun and I love to support them – it’s gotta be hard for them to go up against the big chains. I was so happy to find this pink top and I can’t wait to wear it some more!

  1. CUTE as a button!! I LOVE you in pink so much and boy, that IS the perfect pink necklace!!! Fun sandals, they look comfy and I bet you will get a lot of wear out of them. Go enjoy this gorgeous day sweet find, looking spectacular!!!

    1. Thanks sweet friend! These shoes really are going to be great for school too so they’ll be worth the hefty price. Kills me to spend that much on a pair of shoes, ugh!
      Happy Hump Day!

  2. I love you in PINK!!! That necklace is darling. Reminds me of all the cute ball bauble earrings everyone’s loving right now. I think those are the same shoes Andrea (Momfessionals) talked about last week. They really do look comfy and are cute to boot. How about you being the most clicked pick last week over at TBB. Hottie in the t-shirt! Have a great day! XOXO

    1. Bwah, hahahahaha! If I even showed my kids that post by TBB they’d laugh at me! I was so shocked when I saw my picture, lol. Honestly I was just super flattered. And yes, these are the same shoes she has. I was looking at them and thinking about trying them and then saw her post and how comfortable she thought they were. But I kept thinking I’m about 18 years older than she is so what she thinks is comfortable may not work on my old lady feet – ha! They really are terrific so far and I’m just jumping for joy to have a nice high wedge that doesn’t hurt.
I have the pink ball earrings from BaubleBar and at first I had them on with the necklace but, and this is gonna sound rude, it was just too many balls, lol, ya know? My necklace would look smashing with that hot pink blouse you returned. I swear if that baby goes on sale I’m snagging it!
Thanks for making me smile sweet friend!

  3. Yes, shopping the boutiques are one of my special treats. It only takes one stand-out special item to make an outfit shine and no better place to find those on of a kind pieces than in the local boutique. Love your pink…it looks smashing on you.

    1. Thanks Rosemary! Knowing you live in Gainesville, and once my son returns to school there in a few weeks, I was wondering if there were any good boutiques you’d recommend. He doesn’t have a car there so we often go get him or go visit him and catch a football game. I’d like to find some fun places to shop while I’m there. Thanks for any info.!

    1. So far these sandals have been great! The real test will be when I go back to work on Monday. It totally stinks that we start school when it’s still Summer! August is one of our hottest months and the poor kids burn up, coupled with the fact that our A/C at school goes out all the time we’re all pretty miserable, lol. I have high hopes that these shoes along with my Vionics will give me some comfortable options.
Thanks for commenting, you make my day!

    1. It’s hard to part with shoes we love that we paid good money for but if they hurt our feet it’s time to say adios! I have such a small closet anyway and it feels so good once I purge. Over the next few days I’m making it my mission to cut my losses and donate them. Hope you’re having a great day Shelly!
