Summer Dress

Happy first day of Summer!
Maybe you live in a place like I do where it’s felt like Summer for some time now or maybe you live in a place that’s still on the cool-ish side, no matter, you probably still want a great dress for the season. Although I wasn’t really looking I found one! Now here’s the deal with mine, it was thrifted. Yup. I did a little closet clean and brought some things to Style Encore and while they were going through my clothes I was going through their racks to kill time. Then I found it!

This dress is from H&M and I’ll tell you it’s perfection. It’s lightweight, gauzy material is perfect for hot weather and it’s so flowy! Oh and did I mention it was $9? Yes! I wore it for Father’s Day when we went out to lunch with my mom and dad. It was perfect for lunch and then some shopping. Now since mine isn’t available any longer this one is similar. At H&M this one , this one, this one, this one, and this one would work too.

We didn’t carry our camera with us so my husband snapped a few with his Iphone, which was a good thing because by the time we got home it was dark and rainy. That’s Florida in the Summer, bright and sunny one minute and then rainy the next!

I was able to wear my latest addition to my growing collection of Vionics so I was literally comfortable from head to toe! Once again I’m wearing my go to Kendra Scott necklace and my leopard cuff from Accessory Concierge. I chose to carry my new (similar) straw tote from Express. I purchased my tote during the Memorial Day sale at Express; it was 40% off and I had a $20 rewards card so I ended up paying $17 (including tax) for this awesome bag! Honestly if I had one tip to give you about shopping I’d have say it would be to get a store credit card for the stores you shop frequently. I NEVER carry a balance on ANY credit card but you are often given extra discounts and rewards during your birthday month. Just be careful and make sure you pay your credit card off every month!

Have you found the perfect Summer dress yet? What are your criteria? Feeling cool, comfortable, and stylish in a breezy Summer dress – that’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today!

    1. Thanks Laurie. My friend is headed to London on Friday and she was afraid it would be cold, I’ll have to let her know you’re having hot weather. In the heat there’s nothing better than a flowy dress to keep cool!

  1. WOWZER!!! This is stunning as can be my friend!!! You look like a Summer Goddess!! I love the fit and cut of this and that bag..oh that adorable bag!! You are a vision of wonderful and I hope your day goes great!!

  2. I’ve been thinking about Vionics you mention often. Are there other good sale sites other than the one you linked? Any local shops?

    1. Honestly Phyllis Dillard’s is the only place locally I’ve seen them and they are full price but worth it. The Florida Mall store has the best selection followed by Altamonte and then Oviedo. If you start with just the flip flops you can grab them at Oviedo Dillards. I think you’ll love them!

  3. That’s a screamin’ good deal!!! I love the halter necklines and you wear it beautifully. I’m going to have to go ahead and get one of those cuffs from AC (my wrists are super small…how’s it seem to run? I’m always hesitant to order bracelets if I can’t try them on) I love wearing a dress on a hot day. Staying cool and looking great while doing it = awh-some! Happy Wedensday!

  4. You’ve struck lucky, perfect dress at a perfect price. You look lovely and the accesories make it a fun, light and easy to wear outfit. Perfect for your sunny climes. I wore an H&M maxi dress over beachwear on Father’s Day too. Beach dresses, a navy bardot and a yellow floral top my list if cooling dresses right now – the dresses come out when the heat cranks up!

    1. Yes, Mary, dresses are the best in the heat! I used to only wear shorts in the Summer because dresses felt too dressy but thank goodness all of these cute, casual dresses have hit the market and opened up all kinds of options. I hope you have a lovely weekend beautiful lady, I just adore your style!
