Stripes and Plaid

I just love a good mix of patterns. It seems cold weather provides so many opportunities to layer and mix patterns, no wonder I enjoy cooler weather!

I was thrilled to hear cooler weather was headed our way. Like most of the country the weather has been a little wild here. The month of February felt like Summer and now March has felt more seasonable thank goodness! If you are dealing with snow the sound of 90 degree weather may be enticing but it gets old after awhile and I love any opportunity to layer.Lightweight layers work best in my climate. My striped cardigan has been one of my favorite purchases this year. I love the weight of it and the fit. My green plaid shirt is a few months old and no longer available but this one is similar and on sale!
Of course I’m wearing my favorite jeans . It’s important to note that mine are a year old and look at how great they still look! No fading and they aren’t baggy. I wore these because it was too cool for my favorite open toe booties. Not sure about you but I can’t stand to have cold feet! Anytime I can pull out my pearls (similar) I do! When in doubt pearls do the trick! I also seize any opportunity to wear my leopard cuff. That was my afternoon outfit but when we decided to head out for dinner and the sun had set I need to add a little more warmth. A quick change into my OTK boots and the addition of a scarf was all it took to keep me toasty!
Here’s the thing, this outfit isn’t winning any style awards and I’m certainly not going to be approached by any brands because of it but it’s what I chose to wear and it fits my style and personality perfectly. We went to a local pizza place (Lazy Moon if you’re a local) with Collin for dinner. The majority of the diners were wearing sweatshirts, jeans, and sneakers. That’s not at all my style but that doesn’t matter – everyone should wear what they want and feel good about it. I guarantee I was every bit as comfortable as they were.
I hope you enjoyed the post and if you haven’t already tried pattern mixing maybe you’ll give it a shot, it’s fun and a great way to add a little visual interest to your outfit. As always I thank you kindly for stopping by and I’d love to have you follow me by email so you’ll never miss a post!
Make this Monday wonderful my friends!

XO,
Kellyann
