Short Kimono

Hello friends and happy Friday!
It’s no secret I love a good kimono, remember this post where I shared several from my collection? I am pleased to announce I have added a new, shorter kimono. If you aren’t really sure you could wear a kimono this one will change your mind. Since it’s shorter and more similar to a cardigan it may be well within your comfort zone. And for those of you who fear you’ll look like Mrs. Roper (Jack, Chrissy, and Janet’s neighbor on Three’s Company) this short length will send your fears packing! I am also loving the colors in this beauty. Throw it on over a tank or camisole and it practically styles itself!

Take a look for yourself. I am wearing my slim utility pants along with an old blue peplum tank, my go to comfy wedges , my squash blossom necklace (similar) and my new kimono.

When the temperature is 9 million degrees a kimono is an easy layering piece to add a little panache to an outfit. Wear a kimono in place of a jacket or blazer to stay cool and update an ensemble. You probably own a few pieces you wear with a jacket; why not try a kimono next time?

The length on this one is perfect! I can wear it with pants as I have here, jeans, skirts, and even shorts. The sleeves are sweet as well with that little bit of ruffle.  This kimono is from Target and it’s their Know Rose brand.

Here’s the outfit minus the kimono. I like it this way too. My pants are the perfect neutral and so comfortable. I love the higher rise, no more muffin top!

My peplum tank is from Anthropologie and it’s a few years old. This one is similar and on sale!

I hope you like my new short kimono as much as I do! Have you jumped on the kimono wagon yet? I hope my post inspires you to try one if you haven’t already. You’ll love the result I’m sure! Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

    1. Sometimes I’m not sure who wrangles who at school, haha!!! But thank, I love this combo too even though I was roasting in it and refused to take any more steps outside than were actually necessary, hence the pics by the front door! In the a/c it’s perfect but I was dripping wet by the time we finished, which was approximately 2 minutes. Seriously cooler weather can’t get here fast enough. I’m so glad you stopped by as I know you are knee deep in fun with all your loved ones and friends having a fabulous time! Live it up friend!

  3. Well, it certainly IS inspiring, Mrs R. I tried a few on this week (perhaps you were lurking in my subconscious!); they were either too long or too garish! Yours is neither and I love it, especially the ruffles. In fact, love each piece in this outfit and that necklace is a.maz.ing! I will keep my eyes peeled for something similar to yours, it’s perfect for a cruise ???.

    1. Dang Mary, you caught me lurking in your subconscious! I was so afraid I’d get caught! I wish you lived closer so I could shop for you and send it to you. Yes, a short kimono is just what you need for the cruise! I know you’ll eventually find the right one.

    1. I think we can never have too many kimonos, right? There are just so many different styles! They really offer the perfect light layer in my climate so I find I’m always on the hunt for a new one.
